釜中游鱼的典故

张纲是东汉人，为人刚直不阿。

当时的大将军梁冀贪赃枉法、残害忠良，他的妹妹是皇太后和皇后，他的亲信遍布朝廷，没有人敢得罪他。

一次朝廷任命张纲和另外7人为监察史，别人都出外去巡查。张纲说：“豺狼当道，为什么要去查问狐狸呢？”他直言上书皇上，揭露梁冀的十五条罪状。满朝百宫为之震惊，但梁冀的势力太大，皇帝也奈何不得。从此，梁冀对张纲恨之入骨。

不久，广陵张婴率众造反，杀了刺史， 活跃在扬州和徐州之间，朝廷也没办法。梁冀借刀杀人，派张纲去广陵当太守。张纲也不害怕，只带着十几名随从就上任了。上任后，张纲亲自去劝说张婴，向他表示了皇恩浩荡，也表示要惩办贪官污吏。张婴被张纲的诚意说服了，哭泣着说：“我们只是因为生活所迫才相聚起事的，就好像在锅里游的鱼儿，很快就会死亡，我们愿意归顺朝廷。”朝廷接受了他们的投降，从此广陵太平无事。
