基本解释相传春秋时，楚狂接舆躬耕而食。楚王使人聘之，请为治淮南。接舆笑而不应。其妻以为君命不从非忠，从之又违义。于是夫负釜甑，妻戴纴器，变名易姓而远徙，莫知所之。见汉刘向《列女传·楚接舆妻》。故以“夫负妻戴”谓夫妻远徙避世，不慕荣利。

春秋时期，楚狂接舆躬耕而食。楚王派人请他出任淮南长官，接舆笑而不应。他的妻子认为不遵从君命是不忠，遵从了又违义。于是楚狂接舆背负釜甑，他的妻子头顶织布的器具，变名易姓远走他乡，不知所终。
