南北朝时期，齐明帝暴病而死，王敬则仓卒在东面起义，朝廷十分震惊。东昏侯在东宫召集手下密议反叛，派人登楼观察，看到征虏亭发生火灾，说王敬则来了，假装要走。有人告诉王敬则，王敬则讥笑檀道济父子逃走不负责任。
