傍人门户的典故

在古时候，春节时人们在桃木板上写了神名，挂在门边上以驱邪，叫桃符，後来演化成春联；在门上贴门神以镇邪。端午节时，人们用艾草扎成人形，悬挂在大门上以消毒气。

有一次，桃符仰面看著艾人，说：「你是甚么呀，怎么敢住在我头上？」艾人屈身向下，回答道：「你已经半截子入土了（从元旦到端午，约半年），还有脸同我争上下吗？」 桃符很生气，和艾人吵了起来。门神劝解道：「不要吵了，我们这等人，都依附著人家的门户过日子，哪里还有工夫争闲气呢？」。
