公元前712年，郑庄公借口许庄公不听周天子的命令，联合齐、鲁两国消灭许国，在处置问题上齐历公提议让鲁国管辖，鲁隐公则提议让郑庄公管辖。郑庄公量力而行将许国分成东西两块，东部由许庄公之弟许叔管，西边交大夫公孙获管辖。
