古代赵国人成阳堪家房子着了火，让儿子成阳肭去奔水家借梯子，成阳肭则慢条斯理来到奔水家，跟随主人缓步登堂赴宴。奔水问他来意，他这才说家里着火想借梯子去救火。奔水直骂他迂腐，立即命人带上梯子去救火，到达时成家只剩下一片灰烬了。
