唐朝末年，朱温杀了宰相崔胤，强迫唐昭宗迁都洛阳，朱温不放心，派李振到洛阳去监视唐昭宗及百官。李振仗着朱温的权势，趾高气扬，目空一切，他经常用动动下巴和盛气凌人的态度去指使别人，遇到不顺眼的就训斥。
