弊帚千金的成语故事

基本解释对自家的破旧扫帚，也看成价值千金。比喻对己物的珍视。弊，一本作“敝”。

出处语出《东观汉记 光武帝纪》：“帝闻之，下诏让吴汉副将刘禹曰：‘城降，婴儿老母，口以万数，一旦放兵纵火，闻之可谓酸鼻。家有敝帚，享之千金。禹宗室子孙，故尝更职，何忍行此！”

弊帚千金的典故

东汉初年，光武帝刘秀派大司马吴汉与征南大将军岑彭去攻打在成都称帝的公孙述，汉军进兵神速，与公孙述进行了殊死搏斗才攻占成都，吴汉下令屠城。刘秀指责他，说老百姓家里有破扫帚也价值千金，不能掠夺他们的财产失去民心。
