从善如流的典故

郑国是春秋时的小国。它为了防御楚国，和晋国签订了盟约。结盟的第二年，楚国即发兵进犯郑国。晋军有约在先，便派兵救援，路上与楚军相遇，楚军不战而退。晋将赵同等人主张乘机攻占楚国的蔡地。他们催请栾书元帅下令行动，但“中军佐”知庄子不让栾书元帅发兵，说：“楚军已撤，郑国转危为安，我们就不该进攻楚国。”栾书元帅觉得有理，毅然命令大军撤回晋国。

对此，《左传》称赞栾书的举动是“从善如流宜哉”！
