春秋时期，秦国、晋国联合围攻郑国，郑国派大臣烛之武单独与秦国结盟，按约秦国派杞子、逢孙和杨孙率军驻在郑国，秦国退兵。杞子派人偷偷回国要秦穆公出兵，秦军就大举进攻，郑国商人弦高冒充使臣警告秦国，秦国只好攻打滑国。
