温州永嘉人，字恭叔，号浮沚。哲宗元祐六年进士。师事程颐。徽宗崇宁中，官至太学博士。后为齐州教授，发明中庸之旨，邑人始知有伊洛之学。大观三年，罢归，筑浮沚书院以讲学。宣和中，除秘书省正字。有《浮沚集》。
