廖莹中，号药洲，邵武（今属福建）人。南宋刻书家、藏书家。登科后，为贾似道幕下客，官为太府丞、知州，皆不赴。贾似道专权误国，他亦遭国人唾骂。醉心于刻书、藏书之业。与贾似道选十三朝国史、会要、诸子杂说等，例为百卷，名《悦生堂随抄》。家有“悦生堂”为藏书之所，又建“世彩堂”、“在勤堂”专以刻书。与赵淇、韩醇、陈起、岳珂、廖莹中、余仁仲、汪纲并称宋代著名的七大刻书家之一。建“世彩堂”专以刻书。后贾似道因事得罪，他相从不愿离开。一日与贾似道一起痛饮，悲歌雨注。五更归舍，服毒自杀。
