岂知文公心，胞与同寰区。忧世复忧民，才略胸中储。
后人无其实，慎勿袭其虚。摇尾而乞怜，此谓贱丈夫。

字少泉，又字瑞生。同治癸酉优贡，历署河南上蔡，宁陵陈留县知事，升用直隶州知州。著有《爱吾庐诗钞》。先生诗宗香山，为人朴讷谨愿，胸无城府。严取与，辨义利，交久益敬。乡里后进有一才一艺者，必为之揄扬不置。需次汴垣，兼藉课徒自给，春秋榜发售者踵接。徐东海相国、朱古薇侍郎其尤著者也。宰上蔡日，终日堂皇，清理狱讼，不三月，囹圄一空。宁陵亦然。调署陈留二年，学道爱人，宽猛相济，政绩尤著。先生五十书怀诗有“两载民情水乳融”之句。年五十一，即自劾旋里。春秋佳日，惟与二三知已饮酒赋诗，不问门以外事，时论高之。
