钟敬文，原名钟谭宗。出生于广东省海丰县公平鱼街，汉族。他毕生致力于教育事业和民间文学、民俗学的研究和创作工作，贡献卓著。是我国民俗学家、民间文学大师、现代散文作家。代表作品有《荔枝小品》、《西湖漫话》、《海滨的二月》、《湖上散记》等。
