我闻七闽之险绝人寰，今见闽西之山长且弯。如树有干干有枝，枝枝叶叶交回环。
一山生出山无数，大抵无一直走皆横拦。初逾一岭谓山尽，未尽又见山当前。
山脚稍稍得平处，过去竟为山所关。山头隐隐现凹处，上去仍为山所瞒。
或数十丈十余丈，迭上迭下劳跻攀。六日得程三百里，上下总在山之间。
往时飞步凌孱颜，祇今老矣筋骨孱。赖有两人能舆我，下舆姑让渠息肩。
摄杖徐行复小憩，松边竹下时流连。但见山头石磊磊，但闻山脚水潺潺。
石原不要下山去，水更不曾流上山。水兮何智石何顽，石固长间水亦间。
咄哉上上下下劳如此，我殆不如石与水。
