漂泊江湖偶尔相逢客恨实在多，黄叶纷纷落下洞庭湖水波连波。
深夜畅饮即将作别淮阴的街市，月照高楼我们引吭高唱离别歌。
注释
“江海”句：江海，泛指外乡。忽遇友人本当高兴，由于彼此失意，故觉颇多苦恨。
“秋风”句：在秋风箫瑟的时节，诗人与一少年相遇。彼此情意相投，瞬息又要分别，自然流露出无限离愁与别恨，给人以极深的艺术感染。“叶下，指秋风吹得树叶纷纷落下，借以渲染客恨。
淮阴市：市，商业交换场所，古称“市”，碑立于淮安老城府市口。
“月照”句：最后在高楼对月，他和少年知音，放歌一曲以壮志告勉，表达豪放不羁的情怀。

赠少年鉴赏
作品大意写浪迹江湖的诗人，在秋风萧瑟的时节与一位少年相遇。彼此情味相投，但只片刻幸会，随即就分手了。诗人选择相逢又相别的瞬间场面来表现“客恨”，自然地流露出无限的离恨别情，给人以颇深的艺术感染。
诗中的“客恨”不是一般的离愁别恨。这首小诗是借客游抒写作者落拓江湖的“不遇”之感。
客游他乡，忽遇友人，本当使人高兴，但由于彼此同有沦落江湖、政治失意之感，故觉颇多苦恨。尤其在这金风起浪、落叶萧萧的秋天，更容易触动游子的愁肠了。“秋风叶下洞庭波”，是化用《楚辞》“袅袅兮秋风，洞庭波兮木叶下”的诗句，描绘南方萧索的秋色，借以渲染“客恨”，并非实指。和下文的“夜别淮阴市”一样，都是借意。
诗的前半融情入景，“客恨”的含意还比较含蓄。后半借酒消愁，意思就显露得多了。“酒酣夜别淮阴市，月照高楼一曲歌”。“淮阴市”，固然点出话别地点，但主要用意还是借古人的酒杯浇胸中的块垒。这里是暗用淮阴侯韩信的故事。韩信年少未得志时，曾乞食漂母，受辱胯下，贻笑于淮阴一市。而后来却征战沙场，成为西汉百万军中的统帅。温庭筠也是才华出众，素有大志，但因其恃才傲物，终不为世用，只落得身世飘零，颇似少年韩信。故“酒酣夜别淮阴市”句，正寓有以韩信的襟抱期待自己，向昨天的耻辱告别之意。所以最后在高楼对明月，他和少年知音放歌一曲，以壮志共勉，正表达了一种豪放不羁的情怀。
这首诗善于用典寄托怀抱，且不着痕迹，自然地与写景叙事融为一体，因景见情，含蓄隽永。暗用韩信故事来自述怀抱之后，便引出“月照高楼一曲歌”的壮志豪情。“月照高楼”明写分别地点，是景语，也是情语。四个字点染了高歌而别的背景，展现着一种壮丽明朗的景色。它不同于“月上柳梢”的缠绵，也有别于“晓风残月”的悲凉，而是和慷慨高歌的情调相吻合，字里行间透露出一种豪气。这正是诗人壮志情怀的写照。诗贵有真情。温庭筠多纤丽藻饰之作，而此篇却以峻拔爽朗的面目独标一格，令人耳目一新。

温庭筠（约812—866）唐代诗人、词人。本名岐，字飞卿，太原祁（今山西祁县东南）人。富有天才，文思敏捷，每入试，押官韵，八叉手而成八韵，所以也有“温八叉”之称。然恃才不羁，又好讥刺权贵，多犯忌讳，取憎于时，故屡举进士不第，长被贬抑，终生不得志。官终国子助教。精通音律。工诗，与李商隐齐名，时称“温李”。其诗辞藻华丽，秾艳精致，内容多写闺情。其词艺术成就在晚唐诸词人之上，为“花间派”首要词人，对词的发展影响较大。在词史上，与韦庄齐名，并称“温韦”。存词七十余首。后人辑有《温飞卿集》及《金奁集》。
