（369—404）名一作灵宝。东晋谯国龙亢人，字敬道。桓温子。袭爵南郡公。初拜太子洗马。出补义兴太守。安帝隆安二年，兖州刺史王恭、荆州刺史殷仲堪起兵，玄应之。恭为其部将刘牢之所杀，诏以玄为江州刺史。明年，朝廷用离间计，加玄都督荆州四郡，使击杀殷仲堪、杨佺期，据有荆雍，领荆、江二州刺史，都督荆、司等八州。玄于是树用心腹，兵马日盛。安帝元兴初，会稽王世子司马元显领兵讨伐桓玄，玄率军东下，攻入建康，杀司马道子父子，执掌朝政。二年称帝，国号楚。三年，刘裕、刘毅在京口起兵讨之，玄兵败西逃，为益州兵所杀。
