五代时人，字畏名。世居齐鲁。中原乱，与韩熙载南渡。宋齐丘召与宴，使制书檄诗赋碑颂，虚白方半醉，命数人执纸，口占笔写，俄而众篇悉就，词采磊落，坐客惊服。引见李昪，昪喜其言而不能用，擢为校书郎，稍迁州从事。乃谢病去，往来庐山，绝意世事。卒年六十八。有《钓矶立谈》。
