宋扬州人，字方叔。李定孙。徽宗政和二年进士。历官中书舍人。出为两浙、江西、湖南抚谕使，具奏官吏能否，民事冤抑，听陈诉，为申理。以奉使称职，除给事中、吏部侍郎。历江西路提刑，以徽猷阁待制知吉州，奉祠归。有《己酉航海记》、《大隐集》。
