（1765—1815）顺天大兴人，家居苏州，字立人，小字犀禅，号铁云。乾隆五十三年举人。家贫，游幕为生。从黔西道王朝梧至贵州，为之治文书。时勒保以镇压苗民在黔，赏其才识，常与计军事。勒保调四川为经略，镇压白莲教军，招之往，以母老路远辞归。性情笃挚，好学不倦，为诗专主才力，每作必出新意。亦善书画。有《瓶水斋集》及杂剧数种。
