李九龄生卒年不详。洛阳（今河南洛阳）人。唐末进士。入宋，又中太祖乾德二年（公元964年）进士第三名。一说乾德五年（公元967年）进士（《瀛奎律髓》卷四八）。尝为蓬州蓬池令（《舆地纪胜》卷一八八）。 开宝六年（公元973年）与卢多逊、扈蒙等同修《五代史》。李九龄生活在唐宋之交，因社会动荡，一生抱负难以伸展。著有《李九龄诗》一卷，皆七言绝句。《全唐诗》录存二十三首。
