译文
秋意萧索，长空万里，一片明净；天空中传来一阵凄凉的叫声，一队孤独的大雁正往南方飞去。
秋风瑟瑟，翻卷寒霜，凄冷彻骨；风卷残云，云开见月，惊起飞雁。
征途如此遥远，真担心会累断大雁的翅膀；大雁的影子虽然看不见了，但隐隐还能听到它的声音。
遥望天外，已经看不到大雁了，心中未免惆怅，乡愁不禁油然而生。
注释
征：远征。征雁：远飞的鸿雁。
万里净：一作“万里静”。
嘹唳：即凄清响亮的鸣声。独南征：一作“雁南征”。
风急：一作“风凌”。
塞：边关，险要处，这里指大雁所飞之地。怯：一作“怜”。

送征雁鉴赏
钱起的家乡在吴兴（今属浙江湖州）。安史之乱后，钱起羁留长安（今陕西西安），难以归家。这首诗是写诗人在长安观秋雁南飞的感受。
此诗首联运用动静交错、点面结合的方法，寥寥数语，点画出一幅秋空雁过图。雁声凄凉，定下了全篇基调。颔联写鸿雁南飞的行色。一个“冷”字，一个“惊”字，更增添了全诗的悲凉气氛。颈联紧扣诗题，先写大雁征途遥远，呼应题中“征”字，再写诗人遥望大雁南飞，是写“送”字。诗人的担心，正说明他对大雁寄寓了深情。尾联以“乡愁”作结，正是题意所在。诗人目送大雁，视野逐渐模糊，仿佛随着大雁看到了故乡，于是乡愁渐生，转承得十分自然巧妙。
乡愁本是千古文人的一个传统主题。诗人遭逢动乱岁月，漂泊流落，久居长安，不能回归故土，只能寄情于怀想。这首诗就是写秋夜送雁南飞，雁引乡愁，诗人摹情写状，境界凄清，把乡愁咏叹得十分深沉和厚重。

钱起（722？—780年），字仲文，汉族，吴兴（今浙江湖州市）人，唐代诗人。早年数次赴试落第，唐天宝十年（751年）进士，大书法家怀素和尚之叔。初为秘书省校书郎、蓝田县尉，后任司勋员外郎、考功郎中、翰林学士等。曾任考功郎中，故世称“钱考功”。代宗大历中为翰林学士。他是大历十才子之一，也是其中杰出者，被誉为“大历十才子之冠”。又与郎士元齐名，称“钱郎”，当时称为“前有沈宋，后有钱郎。”
