蔡清（1453--1508年），字介夫，别号虚斋，明晋江人。31岁中进士，累官至南京文选郎中、江西提学副使，著名的理学家。他治学严谨，在床边设案置烛台，凡与学生讲论的问题，临寐前反复思考 ，若有所得即起床，点灯纪录备忘。因积劳成疾，年56岁而逝。
