蒋防，唐代文学家，字子徵（一作子微），又字如城，约公元792年生，唐义兴（宜兴古名）人。出身于义兴（宜兴）蒋氏望族。年少时聪慧好学。青年时才名就播扬远近。长庆二年(822)，在牛（僧儒）李（德裕）党争中站在牛僧儒一边的李逢吉担任宰相，排挤李党。李绅与李德裕知交甚厚，亦遭排斥，蒋防自然不能幸免。被调出京师任汀州刺史，后又改任连州刺史。郁郁不得志，年仅44岁就离开了人世。遗作仅存诗12首（收人《全唐诗》）。赋及杂文一卷。
