译文
伯劳东飞燕子西去，黄姑和织女时而相见。
门前是谁家的女儿蹲坐住门前，她的美丽倩影投照在里屋。
皎浩的月光透过窗牖，照耀在女子的帷帐上，屋内飘散着脂粉的芳香。
女子今年将要十五六岁，身材窈窕，容颜如玉，洁白美丽，无与伦比。
但三春已经过去，日暮时分花朵都已凋零，女儿虽然可爱，但尚没有夫家，这般美丽又有谁爱怜呢？
注释
伯劳：鸟的一种，属雀形目，伯劳科。除西藏无记录外，遍布全国。
黄姑：牵牛星。
发艳：艳光照人。
闾(lǘ)：乡里。
牖(yǒu)：窗户。
明光：阳光
绮箔：帷幔。
三春：农历正月称孟春，二月称仲春，三月称季春。

东飞伯劳歌创作背景
萧衍到39岁继承帝位，前后将近二十年时光，萧衍都是漂泊四方，出入西邸，辗转江南。从这首诗的风格和比兴意境来看，如果说它确定为萧衍所做的话，可以认为是他出任雍州之前的作品，不太像他在位48年间，身居深宫时期所作。

东飞伯劳歌鉴赏
这首诗前两句是比：“伯劳”，亦称博劳，又名鵙，是一种健壮的益鸟。“黄姑”是河鼓的转音，即牵牛星。以东来西去的鵙与燕，以隔河相对的牵牛与织女，比喻彼此常常相见却不得相亲相近的情景。
接下来的四句，是作者以诗中男子的立场，即目即事所作的实景描写：“对门居住的是谁家的女儿呀？那张笑脸和乌亮的头发照亮了整个儿闾里。那女儿容光焕发，无论她是站在南窗内还是北牖下，都想象似在那挂一个明亮的小太阳，且连那罗帐和细绫制的绣帘都溢散着脂粉的芳香。那姑娘年仅十五六岁，窈窕无双，面如美玉，堪称绝代佳人。“
诗的最后两句，是由此引起的兴叹：“哎，如此隔街相望下去，一旦那佳丽三春已暮，花从风落，岂不空留下一片可怜！那时她又将随何人而去？”
此诗以“实理实心”描写了一位男子对一位少女的恋慕之情。肝胆剖露，不事浮饰。因而后来唱和者甚广：上起萧衍的儿子梁简文帝萧纲，下至唐代李暇，仅《乐府诗集》就以同名同题收列了十首之多。然而论起造诣，却无后来居上之感，大多不及萧衍这首朴实大方。

梁高祖武皇帝萧衍（464年－549年），字叔达，小字练儿。南兰陵郡武进县东城里（今江苏省丹阳市访仙镇）人。南北朝时期梁朝政权的建立者。萧衍是兰陵萧氏的世家子弟，为汉朝相国萧何的二十五世孙。父亲萧顺之是齐高帝的族弟，封临湘县侯，官至丹阳尹知事，母张尚柔。他原来是南齐的官员，南齐中兴二年（502年），齐和帝被迫“禅位”于萧衍，南梁建立。萧衍在位时间达四十八年，在南朝的皇帝中列第一位。在位颇有政绩，在位晚年爆发“侯景之乱”，都城陷落，被侯景囚禁，死于台城，享年八十六岁，葬于修陵，谥为武帝，庙号高祖。
