译文
妾本是崇台之女，当初被选为才人，扬眉入宫。
自恃容颜如花，定被宠幸，岂知红颜渐凋仍未见幸。
自辞别宫阶之后，便像朝云一样地消失了。
每忆起在邯郸王宫的生活，就像是做梦一样。
从此再也见不到君王了。为此往往彻夜不眠，愁坐达旦。
注释
邯郸才人嫁为厮养卒妇：属乐府旧题。《乐府诗集》卷七十三列于《杂曲歌辞》。萧士赟云：“《乐府遗声》佳丽四十八曲有《邯郸才人嫁为厮养卒妇》，盖古有是事也。”邯郸：战国时赵都，在今河北邯郸市。
崇台：一作“丛台”。指六国时赵国王宫，因连聚非一，故曰丛台。址在赵国都城邯郸（今河北邯郸城内东北隅）。《元和郡县图志》：河东道邯郸县：“丛台，在县城内东北隅。”
扬蛾：犹扬眉，指美女扬起蛾眉的娇态。蛾：蛾眉。丹阙：指赵王王宫。
凋歇：凋谢；衰败。
玉阶：玉石砌成或装饰的台阶，亦为台阶的美称。
朝云：用巫山神女事。宋玉《高唐赋》：“妾在巫山之阳，高丘之阻旦为朝云，暮为行雨。”
深宫：宫禁之中，帝王居住处。
明发：天明。

邯郸才人嫁为厮养卒妇创作背景
此诗题目为古乐府曲名（见《乐府遗声》）。谢朓有此诗，“盖设言其事，寓臣妾沦掷之感”（《李白集校注》）。李白借此乐府古题，蹈谢朓诗旨，“依题立义”，以寄寓意。当作于唐玄宗天宝十一载（752），李白游邯郸（今属河北）时。

邯郸才人嫁为厮养卒妇鉴赏
第一段写才人际遇变化。开头两句，取倒笔写入宫；三四两句写入宫后的心气；五六两句用顺笔写出宫，境情变迁，心兴升降，尽舍其中。扬蛾，形容入宫心兴。被选入宫，心情兴奋，自以为可以依仗颜如鲜花，获得君王的宠幸，哪知道还有色衰之日呢！第四句暗示了后来的变化，正如诗人在《妾薄命》一诗中所云，“以色事他人，能得几时好？”果然，“一辞玉阶下，去若朝云没”。诗人没写出宫的原因，但在三四句中已透露了些许信息。粗看两句诗简括，而简括中，内容丰富，是色衰失宠，还是遭谗被弃，抑或自请出宫，有许多潜台词，留给读者想象和补充。
诗人写到此处，自然不能结束全诗。那么接下来按题意要求似乎应当写才人嫁给厮养卒之后的境况，但诗人没有这样写，而是写她追忆宫中的生活，好像背离了题意，其实这正是诗人艺术构思和表现手法的超凡之处。
先说写回忆深宫生活的四句诗意。宫中生活可回忆的东西很多，但诗人只用了一个“梦”，而且是“梦秋月”，其中的含意耐人寻味。梦为心声。诗人正是抓住这一特点，描写了才人的苦闷，概括了所有的生活内容。“梦秋月”，才人希望八月十五月下君王驾幸，可见她平常是很少见到君王的。从“君王不可见”的意思看，又感到此番希望是不可能实现的，这分明是多年深宫生活使她得出的结论。得不到君王宠幸的苦闷，希望和失望交织一起，为实现心愿的思虑等等，所有一切精神痛苦，都包容在结句“惆怅至明发”之中了。
再说诗人写这段回忆的用意之妙。首先，回忆深宫生活是对厮养卒妇目前生活的反衬。才人为什么回忆深宫的生活呢？想必是目前生活艰难或失意（嫁为厮养卒妇自然比不上当王妃）；遇到不顺心而回忆过去，这是很自然的心理活动，诗人顺乎自然，以深宫的精神痛苦反衬目前的生活艰难，一语两面，这是一种“虚里摹神”（马位《秋窗随笔》）的表现手法，意在留下“画外之音”，让读者去想象和体味。
其次，这段回忆又寄寓了诗人被黜后复杂的心绪。此诗明显地含有寓意，因为它是李白被黜之作。诗人取古乐府直接表述内容的题目，是为了“借此发兴，叙其睽遇之始末耳”（萧士赟语》）。李白的一生，从总的说是积极入世的，他想走“功成身退”之路，即通过自己的声誉，获得君王的青睐，登上高位，实现政治抱负，然后飘然隐退，不慕荣利。天宝初年，好容易获得征召进宫供职，但却遭到了高力士之辈的谗毁，日子不长就被迫离开了长安。在政治上遭受如此挫折之后，他对唐王朝的腐朽有了进一步认识，但在失望的同时，仍然怀念长安，希望重新被征召，再展抱负。此诗就隐寓了他那复杂的心理矛盾。政治上失意，但又不甘于寂寞，陷于出世和入世的矛盾苦恼之中，从而写出了这首诗。才人既不满意于做厮养卒妇，又不满意于宫廷的冷落，但又流露出对君王的眷顾之情，这正是李白被黜后的心理反映。可以说，诗人借才人之口寄寓了心中难言之情。

李白（701年－762年），字太白，号青莲居士，唐朝浪漫主义诗人，被后人誉为“诗仙”。祖籍陇西成纪(待考)，出生于西域碎叶城，4岁再随父迁至剑南道绵州。李白存世诗文千余篇，有《李太白集》传世。762年病逝，享年61岁。其墓在今安徽当涂，四川江油、湖北安陆有纪念馆。
