译文
妻之美貌都成为了醉梦，已成过去，而我鬓白余生有几？初见之初即诵我的抒写愁怀之作，一看便知能与我同甘共苦者。
你的诗作与六朝诗人阴铿和何逊水平相近，书法则在罗叔景赵元嗣之上，诗囊往来什么适合才能停止，每次归来，你早遣蛾眉迎候，为我整理诗囊。
注释
西江月：唐教坊曲名，后用为词牌名，又名“白蘋香”“步虚词”“江月令”等。正体双调五十字，前后段各四句两平韵一叶韵。
粉面：粉嫩洁白之面。陆畅《解内人嘲》诗：“粉面仙郎选圣朝，偶逢秦女学吹箫。”
伴牢愁：楚辞篇名，汉扬雄著。《汉书·扬雄传》：“又旁《离骚》作一篇，名曰《广骚》，又旁《惜诵》以下至《怀沙》为一卷，名曰《畔牢愁》。”注：“李奇曰：畔，离也。牢，聊也。与君相离，愁而无聊也。”
“诗在”句：引自杜甫《解闷》十二首：“陶冶性情存底物，新诗改罢自长吟。熟知二谢将能事，颇学阴何苦用心。”阴何：谓六朝诗人阴铿和何逊。
“字居”句：引自《晋书·卫恒传》：“恒作四体书势曰：罗叔景、赵元嗣者，与张伯英并时，见称于西州，故英自称上比于崔、杜不足，下方罗、赵有余。”苏轼《次韵孙莘老见赠》诗：“龚、黄侧畔难言政，罗、赵前头且眩书。”
“锦囊”：用李贺锦囊寻诗事。锦囊来往：出自《新唐书·李贺传》：“每旦日出，骑弱马，从小奚奴，背古锦囊，遇所得，书投囊中，及暮归，足成之。”

西江月·粉面都成醉梦创作背景
此词元刊本编在庆元二年（1196年）遣放歌者诸词之间，却非为侍女所作。词意显为作者续娶范氏病殁时追忆情景，是一首悼亡词。

开头二句自叹年老。言青春年华已在如醉如梦的生活中过去，如今两鬓如霜也不知还能度过几个春秋，好景不长，令人失望，表现了作者叹老嗟衰的愁苦心态。“来时”二句写作者同诗友的亲密关系。言每次诗友来时，总是对我诵述扬雄《畔牢愁》之作，作者用扬雄的《畔牢愁》借指自己的抒写愁怀之作，表示“与君相离，愁而无聊”之意，很愿同我往还，密切关系，所以“一见樽前似旧”，和老朋友一样亲密无间。“诗在”二句颂美诗友工诗善书。此处化杜诗和卫恒语意，言友人之诗和南北朝诗人阴铿、何逊相近，值得学习；其书法也在罗（晖）赵（袭）之前，虽见称于人，而我却不敢恭维。结尾二句写候其来诗。《新唐书·李贺传》：“每旦日出，骑弱马，从小奚奴，背古锦囊、遇所得，书投囊中，及暮归，足成之。”此处化用其意，言互相赠诗不要停止，已遣侍人等候来诗，对诗友表现了企盼与敬重之意。

辛弃疾（1140－1207），南宋词人。原字坦夫，改字幼安，别号稼轩，汉族，历城（今山东济南）人。出生时，中原已为金兵所占。21岁参加抗金义军，不久归南宋。历任湖北、江西、湖南、福建、浙东安抚使等职。一生力主抗金。曾上《美芹十论》与《九议》，条陈战守之策。其词抒写力图恢复国家统一的爱国热情，倾诉壮志难酬的悲愤，对当时执政者的屈辱求和颇多谴责；也有不少吟咏祖国河山的作品。题材广阔又善化用前人典故入词，风格沉雄豪迈又不乏细腻柔媚之处。由于辛弃疾的抗金主张与当政的主和派政见不合，后被弹劾落职，退隐江西带湖。
