译文
宫女们把自己打扮得花枝招展，袅袅婷婷，鱼贯走出建章宫殿。昭阳宫里住着细腰美人赵飞燕，吹吹打打，在乐声中为王侍宴。
谁问承受帝王恩宠的宫女嫔妃，难道你们能超越我的双眉弯弯。
注释
婕妤：这里指班婕妤，班固的姑姑。曾得到汉成帝的宠幸。赵飞燕姐妹入宫后，失宠，自请到长信宫侍奉太后。
建章：宫名。
昭阳：汉文帝所居之处。
花枝：喻美丽的嫔妃宫女。
凤管：乐器名。
承恩：受皇上宠爱。
双蛾：女子修长的双眉。借指美人。
婕妤怨鉴赏
此诗开头两句描绘了得到皇帝宠爱的宫女的得意和欢乐情状。“花枝”喻写灿烂的春光，“凤管”喻指欢乐的歌舞。这两句叙事的角度为班婕妤自己。首句写出班婕妤所见：又一个美人出现在建章宫里。这在她心里，自然是一个不祥的征兆。次句写班婕妤所闻：赵飞燕所居的昭阳宫里，彻夜凤箫之声不歇。两句都是客观地平平叙出，实际上融入了班婕妤无尽的失意和孤独，新人的蒙宠和她的被弃损也在暗中作了强烈的对比。
后两句是模拟班婕妤的口气对皇帝宠爱宫女的质问。“双娥几许长”意即打扮得如何美丽？这是对“承恩者”乔装巧扮的讽刺。这两句问得很冷峻，同时又可以看出，所谓婕妤之“怨”并不在夺宠的宫女身上，而在喜新厌旧的汉成帝。在结构上不但突出异军，而且挖掘主题深意，见出诗人见识的高超。倘若班婕妤只是怨君王不来陪伴，或只是怨赵飞燕妖冶惑主，则仅为女人的拈酸吃醋，境界就要大相径庭了。

皇甫冉，字茂政。约唐玄宗开元五年（公元717年）出生，卒于唐代宗大历五年（公元770年），润州（今镇江）丹阳人，著名诗人。先世居甘肃泾州。天宝十五年进士。曾官无锡尉，大历初入河南节度使王缙幕，终左拾遗、右补阙。其诗清新飘逸，多飘泊之感。
