译文
秋江无边无际荷花正芬芳，秋江的女儿们想你想断肠。
春天刚到红色袍带云护暖，夕阳西沉翠绿袖口迎风凉。
鲤鱼风吹动江中白浪，秋霜降落洞庭满地飞木叶。
采莲人要荡舟到何处，你要爱惜荷花的好颜色。
注释
此诗弘治、毛晋本，题下有“兼善状元御史”六字。兼善，即泰不华，字兼善，十八岁中右榜状元，曾任江南行台监察御史、中台御史，以敢于直谏闻名于朝。
秋江渺渺：秋天的江面浩大无边，看不到尽头。芙蓉芳：荷花散发芳香。
断肠：形容极度的思念棚悲痛。即秋霜将至，荚蓉凋零，采莲女们无比怜惜。喻对贤良受挫而深表同情。
绛（jiàng）袍：即绛纱袍，古代常用着朝服。
翠袖：绿色的长袖，即女人所穿。
鲤鱼：即鲤鱼风，通常称九月风或秋风。
“霜落”：喻黑暗的社会邪恶势力。洞庭：即洞庭湖，在湖南省东北部，汇入湖南诸水，于岳阳与长江相通。原为我国第一大淡水湖。

芙蓉曲创作背景
萨龙光将这首诗定为元顺帝至元四年（1338）所作。萨都剌写诗勉励任西台御史的张子寿，希望他能像状元御史泰不华一样，在政治上有所作为。

萨都剌（约1272—1355）元代诗人、画家、书法家。字天锡，号直斋。回族（一说蒙古族）。其先世为西域人，出生于雁门（今山西代县），泰定四年进士。授应奉翰林文字，擢南台御史，以弹劾权贵，左迁镇江录事司达鲁花赤，累迁江南行台侍御史，左迁淮西北道经历，晚年居杭州。萨都剌善绘画，精书法，尤善楷书。有虎卧龙跳之才，人称燕门才子。他的文学创作，以诗歌为主，诗词内容，以游山玩水、归隐赋闲、慕仙礼佛、酬酢应答之类为多，思想价值不高。萨都剌还留有《严陵钓台图》和《梅雀》等画，现珍藏于北京故宫博物院。
