译文
我带着遮阳的帽子，略显萧瑟，偶然从信陵祠堂下面经过。眼中含着泪水，荒凉的台阶上落满枯败的叶子，留宿河南开封。九月的大风把帽子吹得随风飘零，走廊的大部分雨水飘洒屋瓦之上。乌桕树的叶子经秋霜而红，叶子散乱状朝着破烂的墙边伸展。
过去的事情和现在的事情交织在一起，十分诧愤，怨恨自己的身世，因此受牵连。假如信陵君仍然在世，一定会给我留下怜爱的余地。难道我还不如毛公、薛公那些人吗？信陵君难道甘愿比平原君、孟尝君低一等吗？感慨侯嬴，泪水尽情流淌也觉得不够悲伤。
注释
满江红：词牌名，又名《上江虹》《念良游》《伤春曲》。双调九十三字，前片八句四平韵，后片十句五平韵。
信陵君祠：故址在河南开封。信陵君，即战国时魏国公子无忌，昭王少子，封于信陵（河南宁陵），与春申君、平原君、孟尝君并以养士好客称，有“战国四君”之誉。
席帽：古代流行的一种遮阳帽，以藤席为骨，敷以面料，周有大缘，如同斗笠。古人常以“席帽随身”指辛勤求取功名。 聊萧：冷落、萧瑟。
东京：指开封。开封战国时为魏国首都，名大梁。自五代至北宋，皆号东京。
惊风：大风。 落帽：晋孟嘉在九月九日随桓温游龙山，风起吹落孟嘉的帽子，而孟嘉竟不知觉，桓温命孙盟作文嘲嘉。
飘瓦：飘洒屋瓦之上。此化用李商隐《重过圣女祠》“一春梦雨常飘瓦，尽日灵风不满旗”诗意。
桕（jiù）：即乌桕树，叶经秋霜而红。
离披：散乱状。
从：因此。
讵（jù）：难道。 毛薛辈：指信陵君门客毛公、薛公。二人皆魏处士，秦国乘信陵君留赵不归出兵伐魏。二人冒死劝信陵君归国，解救魏国大难。
宁：难道。 原尝：指与信陵君齐名的平原君、孟尝君。 亚：次一等。
侯嬴：战国时魏人。年七十而为大梁夷门监门小吏，信陵君慕名往访，亲为执辔驾车，迎为上客。公元前257年，秦围赵邯郸，赵请魏援。魏王授意统帅晋鄙中途停兵不前，侯嬴献计盗取兵符，椎杀晋鄙，却秦救赵。秦兵退后，侯嬴北向自刎。此处作者亦以侯嬴自况。
如铅泻：泪水尽情流淌，用李贺《金铜仙人辞汉歌》“忆君清泪如铅水”诗意。

这是一首怀古伤今之作。清秋时节，词人路经信陵君祠，目睹荒凉景致，追怀昔人风采，感叹欺欷，于是写下这首沉郁的词篇。

“席帽聊萧，偶经过，信陵祠下。”这里词人以“席帽”特指郁郁不得志的落第身份。“正满目，荒台败叶，东京客舍。”“客”字承上文“偶”字，表明诗人浪迹于此，落拓不遇，目睹信陵君祠，越发感念先贤已往了。遥想当年的信陵君，风姿超妙，声名久远，难怪后代无数失意文人每当追怀这位先贤时，都充满向往之情。而今自己亦落魄江湖，不仅再也遇不到信陵君这样礼贤下士的恩主。信陵君的祠堂业已荒凉萧瑟，尤其叫人感到世事的衰败，每况愈下，忍不住悲慨。“九月惊风将落帽，半廊细雨时飘瓦。”上句用孟嘉的典故来映衬自己的孤独。下句写凄风苦雨给自己带来的悲怨。落帽用孟嘉典故。作者隐以孟嘉的文采风流、雅量高致自拟，照应前文之“席帽聊萧”，亦为后文伏笔。这本来是一段无关宏旨的遗文佚事，但在孤独的诗人看来，他们终究还有臣僚相得之乐，而自己却只能引古为友，自然伤感。怀此悲戚，再看那斜风细雨，也仿佛染上了悲凉的色彩了。“桕初红，偏向坏墙边，离披打。”歇片二句勾画出断井残垣的颓景，更衬出了落寞幽寂的心绪。
下片从这满目荒凉的景物中生发感慨，直抒胸臆。“今古事，堪悲诧。身世恨，从牵惹。”这里著一“惹”字颇含怨气。正像王维埋怨杨花：“杨花惹暮春。”李贺埋怨竹木：“古竹老梢惹碧云。”温庭筠埋怨细雨：“九重细雨惹春色。”这首词也埋怨这古今憾事，更埋怨这荒漠景致。那个“惹”字给毫无感知的自然物象点染增色，赋以生机。“倘君而尚在，定怜余也。”假使信陵君在世，假使自己生逢其时，自己一定会为信陵君所荐举，所重用。然而这一切都只是假设之词，自负之余又不免生出无限悲哀。一则感叹世无知己，天下昏庸之辈把持朝政；二则悲惋生不逢时，没有施展才干的机遇。唯有自庸之辈把持朝政，唯有自信过甚，才会有这样的自悲。面对着严酷的现实，词人只能用一个假设词。“倘’’字来表示自己的美好愿望以及这愿望根本就不能实现的悲哀。“我讵不如毛薜辈，君宁甘与原尝亚？”词人坚信自己的才能绝不会低于毛薜三人，倘能辅佐信陵君，他不甘居平原君和孟尝君之后。可惜的是这种自负与上文一样。亦毫无现实基础，故只能用一个疑问词“讵”字来表示知遇的难得。虽则难得，但毕竟还是有人得到过这种知遇，于是词人以侯赢为例收结全篇。“叹侯赢，老泪苦无多，如铅泻。”“如铅泻”三字形象地状绘了侯赢为这种礼遇而感激涕零的神态。侯赢老泪如铅，是为感激信陵君的知遇之恩，而词人的信陵君不知道在哪里呢，这正是全篇反复咏叹的真实原因。
春秋战国时期，诸侯鼎立，列国纷争。急遽变化的社会现实渐渐深刻地启悟了各国君主：诸侯国之间的抗争，在某种意义上说，就是人才的竞争。于是各诸侯国集思广议，延揽人才，“士”的阶层日益扩大，“士”的地位日益提高，终于形成了“百家争鸣”和“处士横议”的局面。不无遗憾的是，这段充满浪漫色彩的时代早已成为后人企慕怀念的历史而一去不复返了。词人为此深感悲哀，于是用“席帽”“荒台”“细雨”等物象，渲染出一个凄凉荒索的境界，自伤不逢其时，不得其主，从而表达了对于现实社会的强烈不满情绪。

陈维崧(1625～1682)清代词人、骈文作家。字其年，号迦陵。宜兴（今属江苏）人。清初诸生，康熙十八年(1679)举博学鸿词，授翰林院检讨。54岁时参与修纂《明史》，4年后卒于任所。
