译文
燕子矶山石形状如同燕子一样掠水飞行，悬崖绝壁上的渔罾在阳光照射下似乎挂着清辉。
在俯江亭上坐着的是谁？在看我驾着一叶扁舟仰望苍翠的山峰。
注释
燕子矶（jī）：在南京北郊观音山上，突出江中，形如燕子，故名。
渔罾（zēng）：渔网。
清晖（huī）：明净的光辉、光泽。喻指月光。
俯江亭：燕子矶上的亭子。
翠微：青翠幽深处，常代指山。
归舟江行望燕子矶作创作背景
此诗作于乾隆八年癸亥。这年秋，诗人客居扬州，与友人方士庶、闵贞等游南京，于归途舟中经燕子矶下，作诗写景。

归舟江行望燕子矶作鉴赏
厉鹗为诗学宋，而自成一家，主盟江南坛坫凡数十年，为‘‘浙派’’诗的领袖。《四库提要》说他的诗“吐属闲雅，有修洁白喜之致”，从这首《归舟江行望燕子矾作》可见一斑。
矶上有俯江亭，若登之远眺，则“白云扫空，晴波漾碧，西眺荆楚，东望海门”。“春夏水涨，浪涛轰鸣于足下”，正是“吴头楚尾”的险要处，景观阔大，历来为骚人墨客乐于壮游或慷慨之吟的金陵名胜之一。正如王士模《登燕子矶绝顶作》所云：“岷涛万里望中收”，此种景象，“前人之述备矣”。厉氏未作老调重弹，而是以一叶扁舟，凌万顷波涛，于眺望之际，搜寻妙趣，着重刻画了燕子矶的生动形象，抒写了另一种闲淡清远的情怀。既独辟新境，又不失诗人的本色。这种在主体真诚的基础上的精思独创，比起那些故作豪语而落入窠臼的“率多巨制”（清吴应和语）的东西来，这一曲小诗，在艺术的品格上要高点。
诗的头两句是写景，形象十分鲜明，生动，用语极有锤炼功夫。同样将石矶视作飞燕，但诗人已不是重复“形如”的老生常谈，而是“势如”的生动刻画，“掠”字就用得极为准确而传神。明张岱《陶庵梦忆》卷二“燕子矶”条说：“坐亭上，看水江澈冽，舟下如箭”，可知这里水流的迅疾。从“舟下如箭”的激流中望屹然不动的石矶，一种事物相对原理所造成的主观感觉，英有比用“掠水飞”来形容它更恰当的了。而绝壁上挂满水珠的鱼网，在日光中闪耀着一片清晖，这是一幅何其优美悦目的《江上鱼罾图》。“挂”字用得很贴切，与“掠”字相映成趣，别有一种闲畅的情调。
全诗构思精致而巧妙，关键在一“望”字。这有两个方面的含义：其一是以“望”作为线索把开阔的视野中，诸如石矶、绝壁、鱼罾、清晖、俯江亭、翠微等景物，“散钱”般贯穿起来，构成了以燕子矶为主景的有机整体，画意盎然；其二是以望中之望的精妙构思，表达了一种主客同一的闲情理趣。“俯江亭上何人坐？看我扁舟望翠微”，使人想起李白的名句“相看两不厌，只有敬亭山”，而厉诗似乎还别有一种情致和神韵。我看他。他看我。他看我看他，我看他看我，这四层意思用散文的语言来说太哕嗦了，诗则通过“望”字熔铸于“十四字中”。且以疑问的语句出之，似求有答而又不必作答，流露了一种意在有意无意之间的雅趣，余味悠然。
“望”在这两层意思的表现手法上是一明一暗，一藏一露，前三旬写望中之景而“望”字藏。第四句则“望”字露，读起来使人仿佛获得了一个具体的审美视角，有身临其境之感。

厉鹗（1692-1752），字太鸿，又字雄飞，号樊榭、南湖花隐等，钱塘（今浙江杭州）人，清代文学家，浙西词派中坚人物。康熙五十九年举人，屡试进士不第。家贫，性孤峭。乾隆初举鸿博，报罢。性耽闻静，爱山水，尤工诗馀，擅南宋诸家之胜。著有《宋诗纪事》、《樊榭山房集》等。
