译文
庐山美丽神秘的烟雨，钱塘江宏伟壮观的潮汐，很值得去观赏一番。无缘去观赏庐山的烟雨和钱塘江的潮汐，是会遗憾终身的。
终于亲临庐山、浙江，看到了蒙蒙烟雨、澎湃潮水，却发现过去的冲动妄念不过如此、并无惊奇，只觉庐山烟雨就是庐山烟雨，浙江潮水就是浙江潮水。

浙江潮：指钱塘江潮汐。
恨：遗憾。
庐山烟雨浙江潮鉴赏
翻开苏轼的诗集，描写庐山和杭州的诗篇可说不少，但是这一首《观潮》所流露的思想感情却很特别，极具禅味。
就苏轼的庐山诗而言，他写的“横看成岭侧成峰，远近高低各不同。不识庐山真面目，只缘身在此山中”就别开生面；他写的西湖诗“波光滟潋晴方好、山色空蒙雨亦奇。若把西湖比西子，淡装浓抹总相宜”也独步古今。前者哲理趣味极浓，说明如陷在里面跳不出来，就常被现象迷惑而看不到客观事物的真相。后者观察景物敏锐而深刻，譬如恰到好处。《观潮》一诗，也是继于以往人生体验，看清自己心随境转、杂念丛生的冲动之后的淡雅，不随着冲动妄念走。
从诗的命意看，可以看出诗人对庐山的风景和钱塘江潮慕名已久，常萦于梦寐。似乎如果不能身历庐山之境，一赏烟雨迷濠之奇；如果不能目睹钱塘江潮，一看它万马奔腾，势撼山岳之壮，真是辜负此生，千般遗憾，难以消解。可是后来攀登庐山，出任杭州刺史，饱览了庐山的烟雨，欣赏了一年一度的钱塘江潮，反倒觉得客观的景物究竟是旷世稀有还是平淡无奇，也不过是自己主观意识的驱动。烟雨的聚散飘忽，江潮的自来自去，似乎不再那么激烈澎湃，不过是风幡不动心妄动。
以禅理入诗的历代诗人都有，唐代的王维可以说是代表，因为他追慕隐逸恬静，后来更皈依佛教，所以很多诗表现了出尘的思想。如“独坐幽篁里，弹琴复长啸，深林人不知，明月来相照。”、“晚年惟好静，万事不关心。自顾无长策；空知返旧林。”都是例证。苏轼在经历过宦海风涛，经历了人生道路上的许多坎坷之后，产生“及至到来无一事”的禅语，也是烦恼即菩提的真实价值。
苏轼借《观潮》为题，抒写了一种经历妄念躁动，转而豁然超越的思想，有佛家的禅宗情调。所谓禅宗，有南北之分，北宗强调“住静观心”、“慧念以息想，极力以摄心”；南宗则提倡“心性本净、佛性本有、觉悟不假外求”以达到“无念为宗”。苏轼在诗中说的“及至到来无一事”，就是把自己妄念看清，恍然看清自己之后，细想这与苏轼当初未来时的千般期待、万分遗憾，显得很可笑了。

苏轼（1037－1101），北宋文学家、书画家、美食家。字子瞻，号东坡居士。汉族，四川人，葬于颍昌（今河南省平顶山市郏县）。一生仕途坎坷，学识渊博，天资极高，诗文书画皆精。其文汪洋恣肆，明白畅达，与欧阳修并称欧苏，为“唐宋八大家”之一；诗清新豪健，善用夸张、比喻，艺术表现独具风格，与黄庭坚并称苏黄；词开豪放一派，对后世有巨大影响，与辛弃疾并称苏辛；书法擅长行书、楷书，能自创新意，用笔丰腴跌宕，有天真烂漫之趣，与黄庭坚、米芾、蔡襄并称宋四家；画学文同，论画主张神似，提倡“士人画”。著有《苏东坡全集》和《东坡乐府》等。
