石径丹壑，松木门紧闭，地上长青苔。
闲阶上满是鸟迹，敲敲禅室无人开。
从窗户窥见白拂尘，挂在墙壁上生满尘埃。
使我空自叹息，想离去又不愿意，犹豫徘徊。
芳香的云彩遍山而起，鲜花如雨从天上飞来。
空中传来美妙的天籁，却又听到青猿的哀鸣。
很明显，要了绝世事，这个地方最悠哉。

寻山僧不遇作鉴赏
诗中访友诗的套路展现出了散文化倾向。诗的前六句是一种明快流程的交代：径——壑——门——阶——室——窗——壁。谈不上行云流水，却能窥见这首诗的门户：乍看起来，不觉得有什么问题，辞章搭配得体，步履从容，但揣度二三，就为这笔清晰的流水账而叹息，怪它没有更丰富的诗意进项。但这种责怪，并不殃及散文化倾向，对散文化现象需要一次又一次关乎价值观的认识；散文化的感觉跟一首诗有头有尾进行某种叙事的憧憬有关，这首诗在较短的篇幅内寄情于一桩事情的脉络而非关于这件事的激情，就极有可能显示出散文化的特征。
从作者的立场看，在构思（哪怕是即兴发挥）之际，“不遇”的结果已经发生，他所进行的描述依然显得较为重视“不遇”之前兆，就好像那些依次展开的芳踪是一首诗最大的卖弄点。径之石、壑之丹、门之松、阶之闲、室之禅、窗之见、壁之生……联袂演出的情景剧并不比停顿下来独观一物更划算，他只是需要记录这一流程来测试一首诗的雅量。而这些场景的铺垫明摆着朝“不遇”的主题靠拢，对景物的过度描写已预告人的次要性。
根据诗词断定：作者不可能反写实际情况，明明山僧不在，却在诗句中假想两人会谈的幽趣。诗在当时似乎还不致走到这一步。青苔、鸟迹、白拂、尘埃、无人……这一系列的环境元素虽契合抒情诗的表征，却奉献事实性依据，也就是说，看起来挺雅致的，但本质上只是一连串基本事实。只不过“青苔”一类的事实又不限于其本身的属性，已不可避免侵入了情态的细菌，滋生出属于修辞层面的意义。
作者是在寻求一种补偿：由于山僧不在，他必须从这一无人情境中获取诗的慰藉。不在之妙在于他反而可以凭空想像“了然”的主题性意趣。无需一位具体的僧人启发，他就可以从虚空中找到信仰的入口。乃至于云、雨的亮相也有不俗表现，使他不去思索山僧出门去干什么，以及有这么出色的所在，山僧为何还要滞留在他处。他仿佛是这一境界的独占者，山僧的所有者属性已显得次要：他为自己碰巧得到这么一块临时的乐土，与此前所行居的尘世保持对峙，而倍感欣慰，甚至这时听到猿声也不免理解为这是一种得体的、赞同他的伴奏。
从事后的记述人角度看，作者能了解下山返程中的心理变化，以及这一旅程中的新发现，但他并没有触及这一范畴，而是终止在一次世界观的洗礼中。

李白（701年－762年），字太白，号青莲居士，唐朝浪漫主义诗人，被后人誉为“诗仙”。祖籍陇西成纪(待考)，出生于西域碎叶城，4岁再随父迁至剑南道绵州。李白存世诗文千余篇，有《李太白集》传世。762年病逝，享年61岁。其墓在今安徽当涂，四川江油、湖北安陆有纪念馆。
