译文
走出家门，抬起头就可以望见城外的终南山了，翘首瞻望那山上的景色，真的勾起了我无穷的意绪和美妙的怀想。
那里的山色秀美，景色清幽，美得难以名状，那苍翠葱茏的景色日日都展现在我的眼前，这是多么的美妙惬意啊。
只见那儿的天空上方不时飘浮起朵朵白云，它们在天际自在悠然地舒卷伸展。
看着这样美好的景象，我也每每心旷神怡，意兴盎然。
什么时候我能够去造访那个居住在山中的隐士呢？到那时我也要和他一样遁迹于人世，自由自在地栖身在那紫阁峰上。
注释
紫阁：终南山中一个山峰的名字。在今户县东南。当阳光照射时有紫气飘浮，山体高耸像楼阁，因而得名。
引领：伸长脖子去看，这里指翘首而望。
难为名：难以称呼，难以说清楚，指山中景色气象一派壮丽，无法用语言表达。
与之然：与这一派景象浑然一体，不辨物我。是说我心与自然融合而为一体。
造：访问，拜访。幽人：隐居者，这里即指紫阁隐者。
灭迹：离开纷乱的人世红尘。绝撇(yan)：高耸的山峰。

望终南山寄紫阁隐者创作背景
这首诗作于天宝四年（公元745年）秋（一说是天宝五年）。天宝三年（公元744年）春，李白离开长安，在洛阳遇到了杜甫，两人结伴出游。第二年秋天，二人又相会于东鲁。不久二人又再次分手，杜甫西去长安，李白则东游吴越。这首诗就是李白送走杜甫后，客居于沙丘寓所时所作。

望终南山寄紫阁隐者鉴赏
仰望山岳抒发感慨是许多诗人都写过，李白也不止一次写过的题材。但是，所望的山岳不同，诗篇所涉及的人物不同，其内容和主旨也不大相同。这首诗写终南山，又是送给一位隐居者的，所以诗的主旨紧紧围绕着脱俗返真来抒情状物。终南山在唐代是隐居者最喜欢的一座名山，它既有佛家名刹，也有道教洞天，还是距关中平原最近的一座林木秀美的宜人山岭，李白就从远望终南山时的感受写起。终南山与陶渊明《饮酒》（结庐在人境）中的“南山”同名，李白也有意效仿陶诗意境。前两句说见到终南山，抬头仰望，感慨和触动很深，三四句就说这触动是因为山中浑然的秀美景色带来的，却无法理清说透这景色的特点和细节，只是看到葱葱茏茏的山林在阳光的照耀下别有一番迷人的光景。作者只写景色和组成景色的要素：阳光、翠岭，而不直接告诉人们他的感受，无形之中，人们被引进了欣赏山色的境界中，用心去体会了。
接着诗人说山中自云随风飘浮卷舒自在，无碍无束，看到这种情景，不由得让人与精神的轻松自由联系起来，于是不但李白“与之然”，读者也在心中与这大好景象合而为一了。诗写到这里，都与陶诗“结庐在人境”意境相仿佛，在于告诉人们山中景色的恬静优美和身在此境之中的心态，但接下来的结尾，则直叙心声，说一定要去拜访居于山中的这位隐者，相伴隐于林下，远离尘世。原来，全诗所写的那种幽静自然的景象是为了赞美那位居于山中的隐者朋友，是说他的精神恰恰与这山林融为一体，是此境中人。那么，“心中与之然”就不仅是与山色同一了，而且也有李白与他的朋友心心相印的意思在其中！全诗景中有情，以景语代替情语，不露痕迹而心境却表现得十分明白。

李白（701年－762年），字太白，号青莲居士，唐朝浪漫主义诗人，被后人誉为“诗仙”。祖籍陇西成纪(待考)，出生于西域碎叶城，4岁再随父迁至剑南道绵州。李白存世诗文千余篇，有《李太白集》传世。762年病逝，享年61岁。其墓在今安徽当涂，四川江油、湖北安陆有纪念馆。
