译文
茫茫的明月，这时亦应照在苏州老屋一带的南桥路上。梦中身游苏州熟悉的南桥，无限激动，一觉醒来，却在他乡，泪水像秋雨一般湿透了枕头。
感叹自己不能一生一世住在苏州，很多事情不能如心所愿。遥望秋空，大雁带着萧瑟的秋意飞去，远处的青山已沉没在暮霭之中。
注释
点绛唇：词牌名。江淹诗有：“白雪凝琼貌，明珠点绎唇”。又名《点樱桃》、《南浦月》。双调四十一字，仄韵。
南桥：苏州城内古桥，词人旧居附近。
吴城：即苏州。
心期：谓两相期许。
将：携带。

点绛唇·有怀苏州创作背景
吴文英一生流寓各地，以苏、杭二地为最久，其中特别是苏州，共居十年左右。集中有“十载寄吴苑”之语。他曾在苏州仓幕任职，念念不忘的去姬又是苏州人。在苏州生活的那些年，美女、良朋，给他留下了无数幸福、愉快的回忆。直到晚年，名城美人，江南园林，一直令他怀恋难忘。该词就是词人晚年怀念往事而作。

点绛唇·有怀苏州鉴赏
词的上片写见月兴怀，由思人梦以及梦后的悲伤，丝丝入扣，言简意赅，又极富艺术韵味。“明月茫茫，夜来应照南桥路”两句，见月兴怀，引发作词之灵感。眼前的月色，令词人追思当年苏州南桥附近的街巷。自然唤起他如水的柔情和美好的回忆。“茫茫”，辽阔，深远之意。这里接在“明月”之下，便觉词人有无限感慨。“梦游熟处，一枕啼秋雨”两句，言思之人梦。这两句写因怀想入梦，以及梦醒后的伤感。“秋雨”，比喻泪水。“一枕”句，锤炼极工而又不露痕迹，化用李清照词《采桑子·芭蕉》“伤心枕上三更雨”句意，既言梦境之短，又见泪水之多。
词的下片正面抒发怀念苏州之情，以及难于名状的人生遗憾。“可惜人生，不向吴城住”一韵，正面抒写怀恋苏州。“可惜”二字，既怀恋又后悔，感叹自己住在苏州，情溢于词，见出其恋恋苏州之情，何其之深也。“心期误”，言人事多变。词人本想早归或已拟定回苏州之日，但人事蹉跎，一误再误，竞不能如愿。三个字，寄托了词人的隐痛。一个“心期”，一个“误”字，包含词人人生遗恨。“雁将秋去。天远青山暮”二韵，以景结情，无限怅惘尽在不言之中。这等景象，令人兴怀。词人思念故地、故人，渲染得出神入化，缠绵深挚。结句“天远青山暮”，化用欧阳修词《踏莎行·候馆梅残》：“平芜尽处是春山，行人更在春山外”的句意。
这是一首怀人之作，以时空人事的变化，来反衬词人对苏州的眷念之情始终不变。结构严密，语言自然流畅，言有尽而意无穷。全词运笔轻灵，颇见深情和远韵，是一首婉约深曲疏快的小词。

吴文英（约1200～1260），字君特，号梦窗，晚年又号觉翁，四明（今浙江宁波）人。原出翁姓，后出嗣吴氏。与贾似道友善。有《梦窗词集》一部，存词三百四十余首，分四卷本与一卷本。其词作数量丰沃，风格雅致，多酬答、伤时与忆悼之作，号“词中李商隐”。而后世品评却甚有争论。
