江上早寒，仲秋时节就已经霜结雪降。
我要从军远征，却又缺衣少粮，严冬已渐渐逼近，却不得不与家人分别，挥滑北上。
离乡背井，心情落寞凄怆，乘船从后渚出发，驶向远方。
征尘飞扬，弥漫了前方的高地，浪潮高高地卷起，遮住了长长的树影，一片水花茫茫。
孤独的太阳，在空中缓缓地移动，漫漫江雾，时而在前面飘聚，时而又消失空中。
眺望前方的山峰，倍觉路途的遥远，回顾身后的阴云，更添离别的优伤。
美好的志向，就在这终年的奔走劳顿中消失，青春的容颜，因惊叹于季节的变化而变得惨淡无光。
每念及此，总要引起先尽的叹息，只好推开瑶琴，不让那揪心的琴声再响。

发后渚创作背景
宋文帝元嘉十七年（440年）十月，临川王刘义庆由江州徙刺南兖州，镇广陵。作为刘义庆的幕僚国侍郎，鲍照先从义庆还都省家，然后道出京口，赴任所。从后渚出发后，一路上的见闻令作者感慨万分，于是写下了这首诗。

这首诗的结构也很别致。第一、二两节各六句：第一节写别家上路时情景，第二节写途中所见景物及自己主观心情随客观景物之变化而变化的心理活动。“华志”二句自为一节，是前两节的一个小结。“推琴”二句又成一节，似用旁观者口吻结束全诗。这是作者从主观世界中跳出来，故意用客观叙述来“冷处理”，从而让读者于言外去品味诗人内心的苦况。
在第一节中，有两个表时间的虚词与一般讲法有异。一是“仲秋始霜雪”的“始”，作“初”解。余冠英先生《汉魏六朝诗选》注云：“近人用‘始’字有迟久而后得的意思，此不同。”其说是。诗句译成口语，应该是“刚到仲秋时节就开始出现霜雪了”。另一是“方冬与家别”的“方”，“方冬”，指初入冬，而不是将入冬。这里有个节序的先后问题。“江上”二句写今年寒意来得早，阴历八月就下霜落雪了。这时要出门从军，必须把衣食准备得充足些；偏偏作者因家境困穷，缺乏衣粮；但又不能不动身，只好在冬初辞家远行了。鲍诗的特点就在于平平写起，闲闲引入，看似寻常笔墨，而诗意却亲切感人。此诗正是这种典型写法。于是接下来写五、六两句：寒冷的初冬，已是满目萧条，偏偏又在缺衣少食的经济条件下离乡背井，从后渚动身时内心当然要充满凄怆了。这六句纯以质朴平实的描写来打动读者，遣辞造句，似乎全不着力。这与第二节锤炼字句、刻画景物的写法几乎判若泾渭。但作者却把这两节巧妙地连接在一起，乍读时觉得何以一诗之中风格顿异；其实这正是鲍照写诗善于变化，力图用语言的浅显与生涩来对读者施加影响，从而使读者的感受随诗人笔锋而转移的地方。
第二节，“凉埃晦平皋”者，在寒冷的空气中，弥漫的尘埃把空阔平旷的皋原给掩蔽了，显得模糊晦暗，使作者无法向远处瞻眺。这是陆景。“飞潮隐修樾”者，腾跃的江潮遮住了诗人的视线，两岸修长的树影仿佛都隐没了。这是江景。于是作者乃置身于一片迷茫和惊涛骇浪之中了。吴汝纶以“凉埃”二句比喻世乱，看来有一定的道理。因为作者此行的目的是“从军”，而目之所接，身之所经，却是晦暗的前途和惊险的处境，自然会产生来日茫茫吉凶未卜的预感。所以这首诗的景语似乎并非纯客观的描写，而是近于比兴的。所以前人大都认为这一句是作者自喻。“空烟”正在包围着太阳，因此吴汝纶认为这一句“喻世事之变幻”“视升灭”者，眼看着这一簇烟雾忽而升起、忽而消逝之谓。总观这四句景语，还有个动与静相对配合的特点。“凉埃”虽非静态，但比起“飞潮”来，相对地却要静一些；而“孤光”虽在独自徘徊，比起“空烟”的倏尔升起、忽然消灭来，相对地说也算是静态。这就比以纯动与纯静相对照来得空灵生动得多。古人写诗总是在发展中有所前进。鲍照写景，就比谢灵运以前的人进步很多，像这种相对的动与静的配合在鲍照以前的诗人笔下就很少见到。而到了王维，干脆有静无动，只把宏观的壮伟场面如照像一般摄入诗中，其胆识可以说远远超过了前人，即所谓“大漠孤烟直，长河落日圆”是也。
四句景语之后，再虚写两句以为收束。“途随前峰远”者，“前蜂”为眼中所见，要达到那里还有一大段路程，作者心里是有数的，所以用了个“远”字。而这一句又含有前路无涯，茫然无所归适之意。“后云”者，指已经被抛在身后的重云叠雾。行人虽已走过了那一段“空烟升灭”的地带，可是那郁积的云层仍压在心头，给自己带来了迷惘与怅恨，所以诗人的思绪仍在追逐着它，从而使内心郁结不释。王夫之以“发心泉笔”四字评价鲍照，“发心”者，心细如发之谓；“泉笔”者，妙笔生花，文思如泉涌之谓。用来形容此诗的中间六句，真是说到点子上了。
“华志”二句写得很吃力。“华志”犹美志，它是鲍照自己创造的词汇。这句是说自已虽有美好的志愿，却被无情的岁月给搅散、打乱了。“惊节”与“驰年”为对文，指使人吃惊的节序变化。这句是说，自己的青春已被令人吃惊的时光给弄得凄惨暗淡，无复当年的蓬勃朝气了。这就把客观上时空的变化和主观上壮志的销磨融成一体，综合地化为无限感慨。诗写到这里，已届尾声，本可结束。但作者意犹未尽，乃变换一个角度，用最后两句收束全篇。
以上所写，从作者离家远行说起，并把旅途所感抽绎出来，全属主观抒情之笔。但在汉乐府和汉魏古诗中却另有一种写法，即把主观抒情的内容用客观口吻给描述出来，宛如借旁观者之口来为抒情主人公说话。鲍照此诗结尾实用此法。在大段的羁旅行役的描写之后，忽然转到弹琴上来。好像作者已结束了旅程，在到达目的地后把所见所思通过弹琴表达出来。这就把直接的主观抒情做了间接的客观处理，前面写的种种思想感情仿佛是事过境迁的一番追溯。但作者并没有把主观抒情部分做纯客观的处理，只是把距离拉开了一点而已。因为从诗意看，弹琴者仍是作者本人。这末二句说，作者把一腔心事通过琴音来表达，但弹到这里，由于过于伤心而弹不下去了，只能推琴三叹，琴声亦如有情，遂因弹琴者之凄怆感慨而戛然中止。这在作者看，这样写可能增加了有余不尽的回味。但这种把笔势宕开的结尾，其艺术效果究竟如何，则仁智所见亦各不相同。如方东树就说：“收句泛意凡语。”认为这样结尾反而弄巧成拙。作者本意原为创新，但衔接得过于突兀，加上这一手法也并不新奇，反倒成为败笔。故方氏之见似亦未可忽视也。

鲍照（约415年～466年）南朝宋文学家，与颜延之、谢灵运合称“元嘉三大家”。字明远，汉族，祖籍东海（治所在今山东郯城西南，辖区包括今江苏涟水，久居建康（今南京）。家世贫贱，临海王刘子顼镇荆州时，任前军参军。刘子顼作乱，照为乱兵所杀。他长于乐府诗，其七言诗对唐代诗歌的发展起了很重要的作用。有《鲍参军集》。
