译文
鸀鸟双双飞离水面，水满小塘，菰蒲深处，鸳鸯两两戏水。
船桨划在满是白苹的水面上，我归来已晚，只看到秋日岸边的芦絮像霜一样。
我将一叶小舟系在岸边林荫下，上岸来，一阵秋风吹得我两鬓生起白发。
我不理万事，醉后又醒，只希望永远占据江上，欣赏这一轮明月。
注释
属玉：鸀，水鸟名，似鸭而大，长颈赤目，紫绀色。
菰蒲：菰，即茭白；蒲，即蒲草。
白蘋：即白苹，水草。棹：桨。
林樾：指树林丛聚成荫处。
清江曲鉴赏
这首诗写于诗人三十七岁以前。清江曲是苏庠泛舟清江所作。诗人一生主要过着遁迹江湖的隐居生活，这首诗便以其自得其乐的心情，描绘了啸傲江湖、放任自适的闲逸生活。清江，泛指诗人居处附近的一条清澈江河。
前六句所写，既是诗人隐逸生活的一日，又是长年生活的缩影。一二句写观赏。诗人生活在江河边，触目之景，最多的是水鸟：鸀常常嬉戏在塘水中，不过一有动静，便双双惊起，飞离水面；倒是偶居不离的鸳鸯，在那菰蒲深处，“相对浴红衣”，可以不受外界“骚扰”。长时间地观赏这些可爱而有灵性的水鸟，诗人感到有趣，感到欣喜。三、四句写归来。徜徉在“清江”之上，其乐无穷，诗人流连忘返，待回来时，往往天色已晚。桨划到白苹盛开的岸边，他向岸上望去，只见岸上挺立着丛丛芦苇。雪白的芦花连成一片，好像是给两岸铺上了一层皑皑的浓霜。情景如画，诗人心旷神怡。五、六句写系舟。将一叶扁舟系在岸边林荫下，上得岸来，迎面一阵萧萧秋风，吹起了诗人两鬓花白头发。如平镜的水面上起了一阵涟漪，诗人心田也掠过一个念头：对那些热衷于用世的人来说，这种江湖隐逸生活太平淡乏味了，不过，他却觉得其中有无限的清情趣。因此最末两句，诗人表明自己的志趣。“万事不理”，指不问人事，不与世事。观其一生出处，这里有着诗人与现实不合作的意味在内。“弄明月”，指赏玩月色。诗人声称：我就喜爱这种无忧无虑、无拘无束的生活，万事都不必、也不愿去理会，每日除了醒复醉、醉复醒外，便是“长占烟波弄明月”，小楫轻舟，永远占据在烟波江上，优哉游哉地观赏风景，玩赏月色，这是十分舒心惬意的。
这首诗，以属玉、鸳鸯、菰蒲、白苹、芦花、扁舟、林樾等景物，创造出一种幽美清新的江湖世界，活动在其间的诗人，又是一位孤高出尘、自由不羁的隐逸者，因此，全诗给人以一种脱尽尘世烟火的感觉，而使苏轼大为赞赏：“此篇若置太白集中，谁复疑其非也？”（胡仔《苕溪渔隐丛话》引）认为可与李白诗媲美。其与李白诗相似处有二：寄情山水、纵酒行乐、萧散洒脱的不群风致相似；随兴挥洒、辞气夸张、清新自然的飘逸风神相似。

苏庠（1065～1147）南宋初词人。字养直，初因病目，自号眚翁。本泉州人，随父苏坚徙居丹阳(今属江苏)。因卜居丹阳后湖，又自号后湖病民。苏坚有诗名，曾与苏轼唱和，得苏轼赏识，并因苏轼称誉其诗而声名大振。徽宗大观、政和之际，苏庠曾依苏固与徐俯、洪刍、洪炎、潘淳、吕本中、汪藻、向子諲等结诗社于江西。在澧阳（今湖南澧县）筑别墅以供游憩。其后居京口。高宗绍兴年间，苏庠与徐俯同被征召，独不赴，隐逸以终。
