袅袅水芝红，脉脉蒹葭浦。淅淅西风淡淡烟，几点疏疏雨。
草草展杯觞，对此盈盈女。叶叶红衣当酒船，细细流霞举。
卜算子·席间再作鉴赏
这是一幅清新、流丽、色彩淡雅的水墨画。词人通过层层点染，步步铺陈，描绘了夏日雨过天霁时水中莲叶荷花的美景。
上片写雨中荷花。“袅袅水芝红”，红艳艳的荷花在水中亭亭玉立，摇曳多姿。起笔就突出主要形象──水芝（即荷花）。随即，词人从横的深远处拓展开去，使我们看到了婷婷袅袅的碧叶红花被一望无际、朦朦胧胧、含情脉脉、生长在水边的芦荻的背景烘托着。接着，我们的视野又转向纵的高远处，只见荷花的上空淅淅西风轻轻吹掠，一缕缕雾霭的青烟静悄悄地飘拂游动，稀稀疏疏的雨滴落在碧荷上，滚动着晶莹的水珠。经过一横一纵的点染铺陈，构成了一幅夏日骤雨即将过去时的广阔的空间画面，而荷花的形象生动地突出在主要位置上。
下片写雨后天霁，“草草展杯觞，对此盈盈女。”词人巧妙地从外部空间移向欣赏主体所在的小空间──船舱里：桌上简简单单地摆上了酒杯和菜盘，朋友们正举杯畅饮，席间还有美丽多情的女子相伴助兴哩！朋友们相聚以莲叶劝酒，是久别重逢，还是远行饯别？这无需细说。词人很快又将笔锋转向船舱外，继续描会大空间景色，“叶叶红衣当酒船，细细流霞举”。这是从船舱内这个特定角度向外望去，只见枝叶叶、层出不穷的莲叶荷花横挡在酒船前面（“红衣”指荷花。贺铸有“红衣脱尽芳心苦”句）。此刻，雨过天晴，细细的五彩流霞从莲荷摇曳攒动的地方冉冉升腾，这是多么绚丽的景色呵！以动态作结，正象刘禹锡的诗句“晴空一鹤排云上，便引诗情到碧霄”一样，有“不愁明月尽，自有夜珠来”之妙。
这首词，通篇都在写景，而情处处融于景中。试想，值此良辰美景，好友雅聚，低吟浅酌，畅叙情怀，这是多么惬意的事。词人正是带着欢娱的情感来描绘景物，所以写得如此飞动、空灵。特别是连用十八个叠字，不仅读来如珠玉落盘，且倍感亲切、生动。这与李清照的“冷冷清清、凄凄惨惨戚戚”有异曲同工之妙，不过后者是写悲愁，前者是写欢乐。
