前面的船已经遥远模糊不清，将要渡过淮水可渡船已走，有谁来陪伴我？
山上黄叶飘零，传来寺庙响起的悠长晚钟声，楚天飘洒的绵绵秋雨与大海连成一体。
在凄风苦雨中因离别而生的思念之情更浓，在一天之间凄怆寂寞使我的面容变得憔悴。
一只疾风中的伶仃小鸟飞向东南归巢去，广陵在哪里呢，不也在东南方吗？
注释
淮上：今江苏淮阳一带。
广陵：郡名，治所在今江苏扬州市。
亲故：亲戚朋友。
眇（miǎo）眇：遥远的样子。
楚雨：淮阴旧属楚地，故称楚雨。
沧海：即东海，淮阴东临大海。
离思：离别的愁息。
宿昔：往日，往时。
容鬓：容貌和鬓发。

淮上即事寄广陵亲故创作背景
诗人于大历四年（769）秋自京经巩洛、楚州赴扬州，第二年秋天从扬州返回洛阳，在扬州居留的时间正好一整年。扬州有他的兄长，还有像卢庾这样的朋友。返洛途中，舟行经楚州时怀念在扬州的亲人友朋，写了这首诗。

淮上即事寄广陵亲故鉴赏
诗人只身北去，对广陵的亲故怀着极为深沉的感情。但这种感情，表现得颇为含蓄。读者从诗中感觉到的，诗人并没有直接说出来，只是摄取了眼前景物，淡墨点染，构成一种凄迷的气氛，烘托出一种执着的情感。
诗的前两句画出暮色中空荡荡的淮河，诗人欲行而踟蹰的情态，描绘一种空旷孤寂之感。接下去，茫茫楚天挂上了霏霏雨幕，远处山寺又传来一声接一声悠长的暮钟，寂寞变成了凄怆，羁旅之情更为深重。有了这样浓郁饱满的感情积蓄，五六两句才轻轻点出“离思”二字，像凄风偶然吹开帷幕的一角，露出了诗人憔悴的面容。按说诗写到这里，应直接抒写离思之情了，然而没有。诗人还是隐到帷幕后面，他只在迷蒙雨幕上添一只疾飞的伶仃小鸟。这小鸟，从“独”字看，是失群的；从“下”字看，是归巢的；从“东南”二字看，是飞往广陵方向去的。既是失群的小鸟，睹物及人；既是归巢的小鸟，它尚且有一个温暖的窠巢，读者很容易为诗人兴“断肠人在天涯”之叹。既是飞往广陵方向的小鸟，诗人的心也在跟着它飞翔。而且，鸟归东南，离巢愈近；人往西北，去亲愈远。此情此境，诗人难堪，读者也为之凄恻。因此，读者自然而然地与诗人同时发出深沉的一问：“广陵何处在？”这一问，怅然长呼，四野回响，传出了期望回答而显然得不到回答的曲曲苦情，写出了想再一次看见亲故而终于无法看见的心理状态。而正在此时，声声暮钟，不断地、更深沉更晌亮地传到耳边，敲到心里；迷蒙雨雾，更浓密更凄迷地笼罩大地，笼罩心头。于是，天色更暗淡了，心情也更暗淡了。
这诗写离别之情，全用景物烘托，气氛渲染。诗中景物凄迷，色彩黯淡，钟声哀远，诗人把自己的感情藏在轻纱帷幕后面，触之不能及，味之又宛在。且这种感情不仅从一景一物中闪现，而是弥漫全诗，无时不在，却又无处实有，无时实在，使诗具有一种深远的意境，深沉的韵致。

韦应物（737～792），中国唐代诗人。汉族，长安(今陕西西安)人。今传有10卷本《韦江州集》、两卷本《韦苏州诗集》、10卷本《韦苏州集》。散文仅存一篇。因出任过苏州刺史，世称“韦苏州”。诗风恬淡高远，以善于写景和描写隐逸生活著称。
