译文
深夜，寂寞的秋江上渔火疏稀，起来看到半轮残月的光辉，映照树林上也很暗微。
水面闪动的波光，把水鸟惊醒后，它们又睡宿，冰凉的露水沾湿了萤火虫的翅膀，它们也不起飞。
注释
江宿：宿于江上舟中。
寂历：寂寞、冷落。
渔火：夜间渔船上的灯火。
残月：这里指下弦月。
微：隐约，微弱，这里指残月的清淡光芒。
犹：仍然。
流萤：飞动的萤火虫。
湿：浸湿。
江宿创作背景
秋江寂寂，渔船上灯火点点。诗人夜宿江船一觉醒来，一尘不染、安静祥和的夜景便呈现在眼前，诗人想起自身屡遭贬谪，官场黑暗的现状，心绪十分复杂，便写下了这首诗。

江宿鉴赏
这首诗的构思围绕着一个“光”字。全诗四句，每句都烘托出一种光。
第一句写清秋之夜，江上的点点渔火，给人以清冷宁静的感觉。第二句写一弯残月的迷蒙之光映衬着岸边的树村。是一幅宁静安详的水墨画；第三句写江中波光流动，时时惊醒宿鸟。这句是以动写静，江水流淌，宿鸟被闪闪烁烁的波光惊醒，不时发出鸣叫声，其中动的因素更增加了静的感觉。最后一句是以静写动，萤火虫的翅膀被露水打湿而停止飞翔。这种艺术想象仍是以夜空中流萤飞动，留点点光亮为基础的，现在虽然没有流萤，但夜空下流萤闪动着朵朵光亮的印象深深保留在诗人的记忆中。这句话虽事实上反映的是没有流萤，却收到了流萤飞动的效果。渔火、残月、波光、流萤在夜幕里交相辉映，错落有致，形成静夜下的一支夜光曲。
诗人用笔灵巧工细到了极点，先引读者进入秋之深夜的江上环境，接着带领读者去体验水鸟、流萤的感觉。在对鸟和虫的感觉中，诗人写出了环境的气温和湿度，写到了宿鸟和流萤，以及残秋的风露。鸟和虫不但起了烘托环境气氛的作用，而且它们已经和全诗的意境合成了一个有机的整体，开阔而深沉，浑厚而尖新，表现着诗人安详、平和、幽深的情感。
这首诗写法纯用白描，妙在挥洒而工细，将明晰（后二句）和模糊（前二句）结合在了一起。形象上统一了月下秋江的大和水乌流萤的小，也统一了鸟和虫的动和静、惊扰和安宁。

汤显祖（1550—1616），中国明代戏曲家、文学家。字义仍，号海若、若士、清远道人。汉族，江西临川人。公元1583年（万历十一年）中进士，任太常寺博士、礼部主事，因弹劾申时行，降为徐闻典史，后调任浙江遂昌知县，又因不附权贵而免官，未再出仕。曾从罗汝芳读书，又受李贽思想的影响。在戏曲创作方面，反对拟古和拘泥于格律。作有传奇《牡丹亭》、《邯郸记》、《南柯记》、《紫钗记》，合称《玉茗堂四梦》，以《牡丹亭》最著名。在戏曲史上，和关汉卿、王实甫齐名，在中国乃至世界文学史上都有着重要的地位。
