五月榴花照眼明，枝间时见子初成。
可怜此地无车马，颠倒青苔落绛英。
题张十一旅舍三咏榴花鉴赏
这首诗开头两句点明时令，寥寥数语就勾画出了五月里石榴花开时的繁茂烂漫景象，尤其“照眼明”三字，生动传神。诗人即写了花，也写了看花人的愉快心情。后两句点明地点，这是生长在偏僻地方的石榴，没人去攀折损害他的花枝，殷红的石榴花繁多地落在青苔上，红青相衬，画面十分优美，使人觉得几多可爱和惋惜。其实诗人正是爱其无游人来赏，爱其满地“青苔”“绛英”，倘有人来赏，则车辙马蹄践踏得不堪了，还不如任其花开花落、果熟果烂，来得自然。委婉表达俩诗人孤独的心境。
张十一是作者的一位好朋友,作者做此诗时张十一和他都被贬谪,诗人有感作诗前两句写景,后两句抒情。作者并不直接来写景，而是通过人的感觉，侧面烘托出榴花的绚烂多姿。但花开的再美又能如何，还不是寂寞无声落，诗人叹息花开无人来赏，亦即暗喻朋友满腹才华，却被统治者贬谪于穷乡僻壤，无法施展，“颠倒”二字更是有力批判了统治者的不识人才以及诗人和作者都怀才不遇的愤懑。

韩愈（768～824）字退之，唐代文学家、哲学家、思想家，河阳（今河南省焦作孟州市）人，汉族。祖籍河北昌黎，世称韩昌黎。晚年任吏部侍郎，又称韩吏部。谥号“文”，又称韩文公。他与柳宗元同为唐代古文运动的倡导者，主张学习先秦两汉的散文语言，破骈为散，扩大文言文的表达功能。宋代苏轼称他“文起八代之衰”，明人推他为唐宋八大家之首，与柳宗元并称“韩柳”，有“文章巨公”和“百代文宗”之名，作品都收在《昌黎先生集》里。韩愈在思想上是中国“道统”观念的确立者，是尊儒反佛的里程碑式人物。
