译文
我与曹子芳宿于真觉院，子芳睡眼惺松，头发零乱，睡得正沉，没有感觉到瑞香花开，倒是我先闻到了一股花的芳香。一阵轻风吹过，带来浓烈的瑞香花的芳香，仿佛当年杨妃领巾上飘落的香气。芳香太酷烈了，竟然把正酣然人梦的曹子芳也从梦中惊醒。
瑞香花国色天香，堪与扬州后土祠中珍稀的玉蕊花及汴京蓬莱殿后的程红牡丹相媲美。这瑞香花既清雅绝伦又纤柔浓丽，把酒赏花，那秀美的姿色和浓烈的异香，怎不令人神怡心动呢？
注释
西江月：词牌名，原唐教坊曲。
真觉：不详，疑为寺观名。
后土祠：指扬州后土祠。玉蕊：花名。
蓬莱殿：北宋汴京皇宫内殿名。红：牡丹之一种。
纤秾（nóng）：指花朵纤柔浓丽。

西江月·真觉赏瑞香二首创作背景
这首词是东坡在杭州知州任上时的作品，作于元祐六年（1091年）三月。当时福州路转运判官曹辅权（字子方）回京过杭，东坡陪他游西湖，曾到龙山真觉院赏瑞香。

西江月·真觉赏瑞香二首鉴赏
上片写奇香，渲染烘托，韵趣传神。“公子眼花乱发，老夫鼻观先通。”先从香气刺激人的感官写起，突现出花香之奇特，它不仅袭击得友人曹子方“眼花乱发”，还冲通了词人堵塞的鼻孔，使嗅觉顿时灵敏起来。“领巾飘下瑞香风，惊起谪仙春梦”，则更夸张出香气的威力，其想象力之丰富，令人惊叹。二句用唐朝杨贵妃和李白的故事，以奇铸境。
下片专写瑞香花的浓艳，落想新巧，淋漓博喻。“后土祠中玉蕊，蓬莱殿后辊红。”牡丹历来被称为花中之王，无与伦比，但瑞香花却可与最名贵的牡丹品种相匹敌。人们都说古扬州后土祠中的玉蕊花极其艳丽，洛阳蓬莱殿后的富贵牡丹“程红”举世无双，但是，“此花清绝更纤秾”，瑞香花的“清绝”和它的纤柔浓艳，却都超过了“玉蕊”和“鞓红”。末句“把酒何人心动”意谓对花饮酒哪一个人不为之心动。最后由花过渡到人，暗喻出词人和友人曹子方的才华，都像瑞香花一般“灵草异芳，俟时乃出。词人时因在朝中被群小谗陷，被迫“补外”知杭州，内心郁闷怨愤，壮志难酬，而借古所未有的庐山瑞香花自喻，可谓豪气贯注，斫思灵运。含意深邃，象外有旨。
这是一首咏瑞香花词。极写瑞香花的奇香和浓艳，谓为花中祥瑞。全词咏物兀傲，渲染烘托，层层递进，环环相生，最后繁花落尽见真谛，感人至深。

苏轼（1037－1101），北宋文学家、书画家、美食家。字子瞻，号东坡居士。汉族，四川人，葬于颍昌（今河南省平顶山市郏县）。一生仕途坎坷，学识渊博，天资极高，诗文书画皆精。其文汪洋恣肆，明白畅达，与欧阳修并称欧苏，为“唐宋八大家”之一；诗清新豪健，善用夸张、比喻，艺术表现独具风格，与黄庭坚并称苏黄；词开豪放一派，对后世有巨大影响，与辛弃疾并称苏辛；书法擅长行书、楷书，能自创新意，用笔丰腴跌宕，有天真烂漫之趣，与黄庭坚、米芾、蔡襄并称宋四家；画学文同，论画主张神似，提倡“士人画”。著有《苏东坡全集》和《东坡乐府》等。
