译文
南苑吹花嬉戏，西楼题叶传情。故园里，多少美好的光阴。秋日里凭栏凝思，尚能记起旧时相聚。多少次如梦般美妙欢娱，换来的却是，流水般的各自东西。太久的分别，淡漠了当初的情意。竟不见归雁将锦书传递。
时光悄逝，栏菊枯败溪边桐叶飘去。只留下苦酒一杯，伴着疏月凄风。离愁别恨，又能与谁诉说？且把一腔愁绪，消磨在绿酒之中。只盼佳期到，那时一定要他细看，衣袖上点点泪痕。
注释
歌云梦雨：旧时把男女欢情称作云雨情，歌云梦雨即对云雨情在歌中梦中重温之。
锦字：用锦织成的文字。晋窦滔妻苏氏织锦为《回文璇玑图》诗以赠夫，后世遂以“锦字”作为妻子寄给丈夫快信的代称。此指情人的书信。
征鸿：远飞的大雁。古时有“鸿雁传书”之说。“锦字系征鸿”即把快信系在鸿雁足上借以传递。
年光：时光。
绿酒：即“绿蚁”。古时的酒(米酒)新酿成未过滤时，面上浮着淡绿色的米渣，故称。
啼红：指红泪，即美人之泪。此处借喻相思之苦。

满庭芳·南苑吹花鉴赏
此词是一篇怀远人之作，开片三句，写凭栏遥望所回忆起的往事：“南苑吹花，西楼题叶”“故园”里的种种欢娱的事。“南苑吹花，西楼题叶”是一个对句，对的及其工整。
凭栏遥望，不禁回忆起往昔的欢乐，由此想到现在：往昔欢聚的那些人，现在都如“流水”一样各自“东西”，由于分别得久了，感情渐渐的淡漠了，由此引出“未有”“锦字系鸿雁”。
过片思远人的人，现在的生活情景：日子过得没滋没味，“年光少味”与前片的“欢事重重”相对应。“开残槛菊，落尽溪桐”写尽了深秋，花败叶落的凄惨景象，表露出看到这幅秋景的人此时的心情。“开残槛菊，落尽溪桐”，是一对句，它与前面的“南苑吹花，西楼题叶”，遥相呼应。想当初是“欢事重重”现在是“年光”“少味”，“几处歌云梦雨”现在只落得“尊前淡月凄风”，没有“锦字系鸿雁”“此恨”又能“谁堪共说”。只能把满腹的离愁别恨都“付”与“绿酒”中。正像晏几道在《阮郎归》里说的那样“愁肠待酒舒”。
怀着一腔希望，期待着佳期的到来。幻想着佳期到来时，见到日思月想的人，一定让他看“香袖”上的“啼红”的情景。
此词由凭栏回忆开始，写到现在，由眼睛看到的萧瑟的秋景，写到主人的悲不自胜。期待着再次相逢。全词婉约有致，情溢言外，余味无穷。

晏几道（1030-1106，一说1038—1110 ，一说1038-1112），男，汉族，字叔原，号小山，著名词人，抚州临川文港沙河（今属江西省南昌市进贤县）人。晏殊第七子。历任颍昌府许田镇监、乾宁军通判、开封府判官等。性孤傲，晚年家境中落。词风哀感缠绵、清壮顿挫。一般讲到北宋词人时，称晏殊为大晏，称晏几道为小晏。《雪浪斋日记》云：“晏叔原工小词，不愧六朝宫掖体。”如《鹧鸪天》中的“舞低杨柳楼心月，歌尽桃花扇底风”等等词句，备受人们的赞赏。
