译文
弯弯的新月挂在林梢，潜流的沟水在枯塘中鸣响，不时望见稀疏的星星闪落在画檐上，原来是几点飞萤小巧的身影。
思归的乡情已不如往日那般深重，却依旧缠绕在心中。新谱写了歌曲想请歌女来唱，却空对着烟波浩渺的宽阔水面。
注释
卜算子：词牌名，又名《百尺楼》、《眉峰碧》、《楚天遥》等。凤凰亭：又名薰莱亭，位于浙江省湖州市长兴县三界线新城路。
暗水：潜流的沟水。
枯沼：这里指即将干涸的池塘。
画檐：有画饰的屋檐。唐代郑嵎《津阳门》诗：“象牀尘凝罨飒被，画檐虫网颇梨碑。”唐代李渥《秋日登越王楼献于中丞》诗：“画檐先弄朝阳色，朱槛低临众木秋。”
连环绕：连接成串的玉连环，常指难以解开的忧愁。这里指连续往返的样子。
新声：新谱的曲子。
采菱：采菱之人，代指歌女。
水阔：宽阔的水面。

卜算子·五月八日夜凤凰亭纳凉创作背景
《卜算子·五月八日夜凤凰亭纳凉》是叶梦得晚年隐居浙江湖州所作，当时的南宋词坛多以豪放见长，但历经自高宗建炎二年（1128）起的十五年坎坷官宦生涯的他已经对政治灰心丧气，只以读书吟咏自乐，故该词中已由豪放向委婉转变。

卜算子·五月八日夜凤凰亭纳凉鉴赏
该词是宋代词人叶梦得所作的一首咏怀词，先用“新月”与“暗水”对比，用“疏星”与“流萤”对比，描写了眼前所见所闻的自然现象，构思极为巧妙。
坐在凤凰亭里，四周一片寂静。仰视天空，见一弯新月慢慢升起，正高挂树梢；侧耳细听，即将干涸的弯曲的池塘，还有涓涓的流水声在暗中发出枯竭前的悲鸣。再纵目四望：稀疏的明星不时从画檐前落下；却有几点流萤在暗处闪闪发光，自由自在地随意到处飘动。这是常见的自然现象，由于是“常见”，便很少有人注意它，更没有人把它集中起来描绘、观察、思考。“新月”是在成长、向上的，不会变成弯曲的“枯沼”，“疏星”是大而明、高而洁的，可是它落下的时候，它的亮光还不如暗处闪闪发光的萤火虫。这是常见的自然现象，却饱含着人生哲理。
“归意已无多，故作连环绕。”叶梦得祖籍苏州晚年闲居吴兴，据《湖州府志》载：“叶元辅居乌程，至梦得已四世。”乌程，即吴兴也。叶梦得居吴兴已“四世”，当然是第二故乡，他的“归意无多”这是原因之一。其二，眼前景色给他以启示：“新月”与“枯沼”，“疏星”与“流萤”都相去无多；从中悟得的道理谱就新声去问他的知音“采菱”人，可是水天空阔、烟波浩渺，却又是无处可寻了。

叶梦得(1077～1148) 宋代词人。字少蕴。苏州吴县人。绍圣四年(1097)登进士第，历任翰林学士、户部尚书、江东安抚大使等官职。晚年隐居湖州弁山玲珑山石林，故号石林居士，所著诗文多以石林为名，如《石林燕语》、《石林词》、《石林诗话》等。绍兴十八年卒，年七十二。死后追赠检校少保。 在北宋末年到南宋前半期的词风变异过程中，叶梦得是起到先导和枢纽作用的重要词人。作为南渡词人中年辈较长的一位，叶梦得开拓了南宋前半期以"气"入词的词坛新路。叶词中的气主要表现在英雄气、狂气、逸气三方面。
