还记得我们去年什么时候分别的吗？那是南边花园绿草地上飞蝴蝶的时候——春天。
现在，你知道是什么季节了吗？冬天已经到了，西山顶的白雪在云层下更显幽暗。
玉门关离我这里有三千里地，我想给你寄封信，恐怕你也难得一见。
注释
去年：刚过去的一年。唐杜甫《前苦寒行》之二：“去年白帝雪在山，今年白帝雪在地。”
南园：泛指园圃。晋张协《杂诗十首》其八：“借问此何时，蝴蝶飞南园。”绿草：亦即春日之时。
今岁：今年。唐元稹《赋得数蓂》诗：“尧年始今岁，方欲瑞千龄。”
西山：王琦注云：“即雪山，又名雪岭，上有积雪，经夏不消。在成都之西，正控吐蕃，唐时有兵戍之。”（《李太白全集》卷二十五）吐蕃是公元七至九世纪时藏族建立的政权，控制青藏高原一带地区。在松赞干布时期，吐蕃曾与唐通使修好，后来关系逐渐恶化，双方互有攻伐，唐朝廷不得不派重兵驻守。杜甫有“西山白雪三城戍”（《野望》），李商隐有“雪岭未归天外使，松州犹驻殿前军”（《杜工部蜀中离席》），诸句皆可为证。白雪：即寒冬之日。秦云：秦地之云，此暗指思妇家在秦地。秦，泛指陕西，唐人诗中往往特指长安。
玉关：即玉门关，汉朝故址在敦煌西北小方盘城，六朝移至今甘肃安西县双塔堡附近。汉代大将霍去病破月氏，开玉门关，自此成为中国与西域分界的关隘。北周庾信《竹杖赋》：“玉关寄书，章台留钏。”
音书：音讯，书信。二句言音讯不通，存亡难知。

思边鉴赏
“去年何时君别妾，南园绿草飞蝴蝶。”开头两句，是思妇对去年与丈夫离别时情景的追忆。这两句妙在不纯用叙述笔调，而采用思妇自问自答的写法，显得波峭有致。“南园”一句，因是化用晋代诗人张协“蝴蝶飞南园”（《杂诗十首》其八）的诗句，故“南园”可理解为某处的一所花园，未必实有所指。其时正当春天，南园里绿草如茵，百花盛开蝴蝶在花丛中翩翩飞舞。一对即将离别的夫妻，面对如此良辰美景，尤其是看到那成双作对的蝴蝶，不禁触景生情，肝肠寸断。但这种哀伤情绪并未在字面上流露出来，诗人描绘的反而是一派明媚的春光，这正是王夫之在评论《诗经·小雅·采薇》“昔我往矣，杨柳依依；今我来思，雨雪霏霏”四句时所说的“以乐景写哀”（《姜斋诗话》卷上）的手法，从而把哀伤之情反衬得更为强烈。对这对夫妻家在何处、为何事离别、丈夫又去向何方等问题诗中均未作交代。这就给读者设置了悬念，也为引出下二句埋下了伏线。
中间两句，用的也是思妇自问自答的写法，写思妇在丈夫离家一年之后对他的怀念。但诗中并未正面倾诉离愁别恨，而是分别描绘了“西山白雪”与“暗秦云”两幅惨淡的画面，借景言情。“西山白雪”四字，看似景语，其实是借此点明丈夫离家的原因及其戍守之地。“暗秦云”三字，不仅点明了他们夫妻原来家居之地，同时也借思妇在家遥望云天之所见，来刻画她翘首期待之状以及悒郁愁苦之情。前两句留下的三点悬念，至第四句方才释然大白。这种写法，较之一开头便和盘托出，更耐人寻味，此诗构思布局之妙，于此可见。
“玉关去此三千里，欲寄音书那可闻！”末尾二句，写思妇与丈夫天各一方，难通音信。秦地距玉关达三千里之遥，欲传尺素，又无鱼雁。夫妻二人，一别经年，满腹相思，无由倾吐，这就使思妇更感痛苦万分。诗中，思妇的丈夫戍守之地为“西山”，并非“玉关”，思妇欲往“玉关”投寄“音书”，貌似南辕北辙，前后牴牾。其实这并非李白失之粗疏。盖“玉关”自汉代以来，即为汉族统治者与西北各少数民族政权经常发生战争之地，也是闺怨诗中思妇经常梦魂萦系之地。如王昌龄《从军行七首》其四云：“青海长云暗雪山，孤城遥望玉门关。黄沙百战穿金甲，不破楼兰终不还。”李白《子夜吴歌四首》其三亦云：“……秋风吹不尽管总是玉关情。何日平胡虏，良人罢远征。”此类诗句，唐诗中不胜枚举。在这里，“玉关”并非实指，而是泛指征战戍守之地，“玉关”自然也包括其中。诗人之所以用“玉关”取代“西山”，很可能是出于修辞的需要。由于第四句已出现“西山”二字，故第五句换用“玉关”，以免重复。
征夫怀归、思妇闺怨，是中国古典词歌中一个传统的题材。自《诗经》以来，作者代不乏人，留下了大量脍炙人口的名篇。即如李白，此类作品亦自不少。《思边》这首小诗，在李白闺情诗中虽算不得出类拔萃之作，但在艺术上有如下两点颇可注意。第一，如上文所述，首二句叙别离之悲，中二句诉相思之苦，均不落言筌，须待读者细加咀嚼而后出，可谓含蓄蕴藉，韵味悠长。第二，全篇虽用思妇口吻，但“去年何时君别妾”二句是从丈夫一方着笔，“今岁何时妾忆君”二句是从自己一方着笔，这种对仗的句式从两方落笔的写法，既具整饬匀称之美，又见回环往复之致，与缠绵缱绻的诗情妙合无垠。末尾二句，出语虽稍嫌直露，但可使题旨表达得更为强烈醒豁，收结更为斩截有力，白璧微瑕，故未足深病。

李白（701年－762年），字太白，号青莲居士，唐朝浪漫主义诗人，被后人誉为“诗仙”。祖籍陇西成纪(待考)，出生于西域碎叶城，4岁再随父迁至剑南道绵州。李白存世诗文千余篇，有《李太白集》传世。762年病逝，享年61岁。其墓在今安徽当涂，四川江油、湖北安陆有纪念馆。
