风清月正圆，信是佳时节。
不会长年来，处处愁风月。

译文
正是风清月圆的好天良夜。
因与思念的人长年隔绝，每逢见到清风明月就产生了忧愁。
点起香，对香吟诗，用来排除心中的愁情，但心反而与香一样焦，吟声与虫鸣一样凄凉。
于是就上床睡觉，或许可以与愁苦告别，不料衣带又解不开，越急着想解开，越是解不开，反而打成了一个死结。

熏（xūn）麝：熏炉中的香料。
寒虫：蟋蟀。
遽（jù）：速。
愁风月鉴赏
有人说，中国古代抒情诗词中很少有主词，这首也是如此。读者只有根据抒情主人公的口吻、语气、举动及她身边的器物等等来推断性别，身份。这首词抒情主人公似应是一位怀人的女子。
上片开首两句是说风清月圆，正是良辰美景，令人赏心悦目。接下去两句却意绪陡转，“不会长年来，处处愁风月。”风月好不好，其实不在于风月，而在于人的心情。心情不好，风月将处处衔愁。杜甫《春望》云：“感时花溅泪，恨别鸟惊心。”欧阳修《玉楼春》云：“人生自是有情痴，此恨不关风和月。”说得透辟。上片，作者曲笔回旋，入木三分地刻画了一个怀人女子那缠绵的、难于排遣的痛苦。
过片紧扣一个“愁”字。“熏麝”指熏炉中的香料。“寒虫”即蟋蟀。“心将”二句是说，自己的心和熏炉中的香料一样燃焦了；自己低低的吟咏跟蟋蟀的鸣叫一般凄楚。这两句中，“焦”、“切”二字下得准确、形象、老到，使得人与熏麝，人与寒虫融为一体了，人内心的焦灼不安，人内心的凄苦难耐也借二字传导而出了。
“欲遽就床眠，解带翻成结。”以动作结情，构思巧妙，新颖。“遽”，匆忙，急之意。想念意中人而不得见，内心焦灼不安，于是想到还是上床睡觉吧，指望以此抛开痛苦烦恼。可是这也不行。想解带脱衣，反而结成了死结。生活中一个普普通通的动作，在此却显示了巨大的艺术魅力，它活脱脱写出一个烦恼人的烦恼心态。“解带翻成结”一句，语浅情深，实乃天籁之声，神来之笔，不知贺铸何由得来！
陈廷焯《白雨斋词话》中曾说：“贺老小词工于结句，往往有通首渲染，至结处一笔叫醒，遂使全篇实处皆虚，最属胜境。”这首《愁风月》也是结句妙绝的一例。
