译文
离人的怀抱甚是伤心，老天倘若有感情，也会因离别而衰老；它有时如轻丝般纤细却缠绵悠远，有时又如波涛般一浪高过一浪地涌上心头。
湖边一叶扁舟停靠在岸边，枫叶、芦花在秋风里瑟瑟发抖，将前欢与现实形成对照，相聚时的欢乐是一去不复返了，除非相逢于梦中。
注释
①减字木兰花：词牌名，原唐教坊曲，双调四十四字，与“木兰花”相比，前后片第一、三句各减三字，改为平仄韵互换格，每片两仄韵，两平韵。
②伤怀：伤心。
③扁舟：小船。
④枫叶：枫树叶。亦泛指秋令变红的其他植物的叶子。诗文中常用以形容秋色。
⑤须著人问比梦间：全句是说过去的事纵然真实，由于时过境迁。也形同梦寐，须用梦间的事来比况过去人间发生的事。

减字木兰花·伤怀离抱创作背景
词作编年未详，当是天圣末少年时期所作。这首词可能是作者青年时期的作品，写的是与女子别离的凄切之情。这位女子究竟是什么样的身份，与作者究竟是什么关系，现已很难厘定。

减字木兰花·伤怀离抱鉴赏
是词写离愁。前阕议论抒情。首句“伤怀离抱”，开门见山直奔主题。伤感是离别的情绪。诗人李贺曾吟道“天若有情天亦老”，抒发对国家兴亡的悲凉痛苦情感，两者比对。这种离愁“细似轻丝渺似波”，细软得像轻丝那样缠绕不清，缥渺得像微波那样延续不断。后阕回忆离别。一叶轻舟靠在岸边，红色的枫叶白色的芦花，金风萧萧，行人告别远去。“细想前欢”，慢慢地回忆起以前相聚的欢乐，却不能失而复得。“须著人间比梦间”，必须要让人世间改变成梦间。
全词缠绵悱恻，婉转细腻且真情灼然，可以想见，作者与文中女子的感情一定非同一般。上阕用了李贺诗的名句，表达出内心无限的深情，又以设问的形式问道：你能知道这番深意是怎样的吗？告诉你，就如同细丝一般扯也扯不断，像水波一样前波刚去后波又来，永远不可能断绝。下阕写到具体的场景，把人送走后，作者还独自站立在岸边，目送着白帆远去后，才发现这里剩下的，只有白居易诗中“枫叶荻花秋瑟瑟”的萧疏。此景最能令人想起“前欢”，那是多么令人魂飞魄散的极致享受，与眼前的孤独索寞形成的对比，就如同冰冷的人间和美梦中的情景一样不可同日而语。这种强烈的对比，更加大了作者心理上的落差，正是这种落差，令人感到了他的情意是何等真挚。

欧阳修（1007－1072），字永叔，号醉翁，晚号“六一居士”。汉族，吉州永丰（今江西省永丰县）人，因吉州原属庐陵郡，以“庐陵欧阳修”自居。谥号文忠，世称欧阳文忠公。北宋政治家、文学家、史学家，与韩愈、柳宗元、王安石、苏洵、苏轼、苏辙、曾巩合称“唐宋八大家”。后人又将其与韩愈、柳宗元和苏轼合称“千古文章四大家”。
