仰望着幽深的岩石而眼波流盼，抚摸着桂花的枝条而凝神冥想。
等待千年才等到与你相遇，你又为何独自前往？

流盼：犹流眄，流转目光观看。
凝想：“犹凝思，聚精会神地思考；沉思。
千龄：犹千年、千岁。极言时间久长。
荃：古书上说的一种香草，亦用以喻国君。
拟小山篇创作背景
此诗系徐惠八岁时，由其父徐孝德出题而作，诗成后，其父大惊，认为徐惠的才华是不可能被人为掩盖，从此徐惠的诗作等被广泛传播。唐太宗听说后，将徐惠纳入宫中，封为才人。

拟小山篇鉴赏
徐惠的《拟小山篇》系徐贤妃徐惠八岁时所作的骚体诗，由其父亲命题，为仿汉代淮南小山《招隐士》而作。因为题目指定为拟《离骚》，所以使运用幽岩、桂枝、荃这类与屈原有关的意象和骚体表达方式的构思成为必然选择。也使文字层面的体性特征也必然是古雅庄重。本诗继承了《楚辞》的艺术特色和表现手法。作者者技巧娴熟，用连缀的方式组合诗歌意象，把前两句中“流盼”和”凝想“的屈原形象与“千龄此遇”的作者关联起来。最后一句则挽结全诗。诗歌音韵流转,境界清雅,含义深远,格调沉着。中间虚词的使得诗歌语气舒缓有致，节奏抑扬顿错，含蓄蕴藉地抒发了诗人的内在情感，委婉曲折地表现了身处封建社会的学识出众的女子无法实现心志的孤寂。
全诗运用整齐的六言句式塑造了一个远离尘世喧嚣的女子，“她”在幽深寂静的岩谷，站立着、探寻着、若有所待。渐渐地，在惆怅袭上心头时，她下意识地抚摸着幽香清远的桂枝!陷入了深深的沉思和久久的凝视。所待之人的久久不至，虽然使她的身心都笼罩在渐渐浓重的惆怅之中，但她深信那一份寂寞的孤独非常有价值，那份孤高拔俗、凝神澄志的虔诚等待，一定会在不期然中创造一段旷古未有的传奇。落寞的心虽然叹息“荃何为兮独往？”。但”她“并没有停止等待，诗中以"荃“指代”她“在等待的人。而”荃“这一意象在《离骚》中，专用以指代楚王。显然，徐惠模仿屈原的语气，向虚拟中的"荃”表白自己的等待。最后两小句诗显然表明，从女童步入少女时代的徐惠，心中早有一个属于想象世界的、与周围现实世界的凡夫俗子截然不同的”荃“。
全诗渗透着浪漫而幽婉的风格，显示出诗人在内心深处，渴望与一个伟大的人物建立起一份“千古一遇”足以传为万世美谈的旷古奇缘。

徐惠（公元627年―公元650年），湖州长城人（今长兴人)，唐太宗李世民的妃嫔。生于贞观元年（公元627年）。年少时便才华出众。唐太宗听说后，将她纳为才人。后被封为婕妤，接着又升为充容。贞观末年，唐太宗频起征伐、广修宫殿。徐惠上疏极谏，剖析常年征伐、大兴土木之害。唐太宗认可了她的看法并对她厚加赏赐。贞观二十三年（公元649年），唐太宗驾崩，徐惠哀慕成疾，不肯服药，又作七言诗和连珠以示爱慕。永徽元年（公元650年）病逝，年仅二十四，被追封贤妃，陪葬昭陵石室。
