和韦承庆过义阳公主山池五首鉴赏
杜审言在狭窄的领域里是一个天才。如果他生活在诗歌范围较广阔的时代，或拥有反抗的、冒险的诗歌个性，那么他将可能成为一位重要的诗人。按照实际情况来说，他致力于将诗歌写得直率优美，这在当时的宫廷诗人中是罕见的。杜审言首先是一位文体家，他的作品具有特别的价值——精练的词语和轻度的句法转换，这是无法翻译出来的。甚至连他的正规宫廷应景诗，也闪耀着流畅的光芒，使其他宫廷诗人显得呆板。这组诗就是这样的典型例子。
其中，第一首诗的首联被《唐人句法》引为对句典范，保存在宋代的诗论集《诗人玉屑》中。这一联作为开头是突兀的，它的风格及自然景物支配人类建筑的主题，更适于放在中间部分。次联修正了开头的突兀，写进了宴会，描写酒杯正漂浮在溪水上，并表现求仙主题，正在烧煮石髓作为长生不老药，至少这是诗人闻到粳香后的联想。三联描写柳叶或虫丝垂挂在雾中，仿佛“绾”住了雾；悬挂的藤蔓在风中飘拂，似乎牵住了风。诗人将隐喻的因果关系倒置，这一手法后来在律诗中很流行，杜甫就经常运用。尾联是惋惜的传统结尾。除了尾联，每一联都是佳对，但互不关联，只是以韵脚和宴会的实际情况串联在一起。
第二首诗说作者跟韦承庆两个人在宴会后尽情欣赏美景，游玩享乐，辞句非常优美。
第三首诗说带着琴瑟，吟诗作画，野餐登山，一直玩到夕阳西下，非常尽兴。
第四首诗也是一首特别优美精巧的宫廷诗：这首诗也以一联适于中间位置的对句开头（应该指出，组诗之一的开头是恰当的），尾联将传统的“天已晚了，该回去了”的结尾翻新，写参与宴会者不愿意离开眼前的美景，虽然他们知道不能不离开。

杜审言（约645-708），字必简，汉族，中国唐朝襄州襄阳人，是大诗人杜甫的祖父。唐高宗咸亨进士，唐中宗时，因与张易之兄弟交往，被流放峰州（今越南越池东南）。曾任隰城尉、洛阳丞等小官，累官修文馆直学士，少与李峤、崔融、苏味道齐名，称“文章四友”，是唐代“近体诗”的奠基人之一，作品多朴素自然。其五言律诗，格律谨严。
