译文
驾舟泛海出入洪波之中，巨大的鲸鱼涌起溟海浪涛。
百川翻滚龙舟飞驰，在长鲸的嘘吸之下全被吞没。
此中还有竟然不死的人，反而探得了明月之珠。
明珠价高为宇宙之冠，漏出些许光辉便照耀江湖。
凌驾超越于金缕之衣，在明珠面前全无光彩。
谁人识得如此之宝？私下暗笑有您我这样的狂夫。
了然于心不必再说些什么，各自保重勤勉我们目身吧。
注释
朝美：僧人名。
水客：驾舟泛海音。
长鲸：即鲸鱼，因身巨长，故称。
龙舟：刻有龙饰的大舟。
倾：竭尽，全。
金缕褐：金缕织成的衣服。
了心：了然于心。
黄金躯：喻指身体生命的珍贵。

赠僧朝美鉴赏
《赠僧朝美》是李白在天宝（公元742—759）末年游宣州（今安徽宣城县一带）时，赠僧人朝美的一首诗。
李白自从天宝三载（公元744）辞京还山之后，就一直未再回到朝中。在长安的一年多时间里，他目睹了唐玄宗荒淫误国，李林甫、杨国忠等权奸把持朝政，败坏朝纲，眼看大唐王朝一天天地走下坡路，大唐江山就要毁于昏君群小之手，丽他却被奸人谗毁，在朝中无法容身，唐玄宗只是把他看作是一个点缀升平的御用文人，使得他的报国之志无从施展。他既不能违心从俗，向权奸屈服，就只好洁身自好，高蹈远引了。于是他毅然辞京还山，离开朝廷这个黑自不分，是非颠倒的污浊世界，到广阔的天地中去寻找他干净的乐土，自由的世界。他唱道：“严陵不从万乘游，归卧空山钓碧流。自是客星辞帝座，元非太白醉扬州。”（《酬崔侍御》）在他漫游各地的十多年中，多与道士僧人交往，过着闲云野鹤般的浪游生活。道家老庄的遗世独立的精神、陶冶了他自由的性格；
佛教玄远的意趣，深邃的哲理，启发着他的诗情，释散了他内心久抑的痛苦。他在宗教这块方外之地上，寻找到了他疲惫困苦心灵的暂时憩息之地。与他前期积极进取、热衷功名的思想相反，他后期的思想在环境的逼迫与老庄佛学思想的影响下，发生了急剧的变化。他从入世转向出世，从热衷功名到主动抛弃功名。他自觉地与统治者决裂，退出朝廷，走向山林，与隐士为朋，以僧道为友，经常与他们一起吟诗品画，谈玄论道。《赠僧朝美》这首诗，就是他与僧人的谈玄论禅之作。

李白（701年－762年），字太白，号青莲居士，唐朝浪漫主义诗人，被后人誉为“诗仙”。祖籍陇西成纪(待考)，出生于西域碎叶城，4岁再随父迁至剑南道绵州。李白存世诗文千余篇，有《李太白集》传世。762年病逝，享年61岁。其墓在今安徽当涂，四川江油、湖北安陆有纪念馆。
